[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

However something to be noted, with sports, any static logos or score tabs will be dimmed down over time compared to the rest of the picture do reduce the wear on the pixels in that area. The degree of this will depend on the brightness level your chosen picture preset is set on.
Does not happen with sport. Only gaming when I leave the telly for 5 or 10 minutes. And then the brightness returns when I start gaming again.

If your logo luminance is set to off or low then you wont even notice it. I keep mine on high along with the brightness at 100% and I definitely can notice it after 30min or so as the Premier League logo goes dimmer .

For gaming, when I'm playing a game and I know I'm gonna be gone for longer than 5 min I just switch the TV off. (I'm paranoid like that, even though I play the same for 4-5 hours straight on it). All the games I play are in HDR so I dont leave the TV on with a static HDR screen. Xbox home screen dims itself when idle so I dont mind there.

*Quite a few complaints on TAL regarding the refresh rate on the Hisense. Its 60Hz and not 120Hz. This is confirmed on the Hisense website.
**So on the Hisense site it has a section speaking to HDMI 2.1... and then they explicitly say the TV does not have an HDMI 2.1 port:

Which one would you choose? Does any have the 55inch model of the Toshiba?
I don't mind getting a 55inch if it meana it's a better TV and also if it falls within my budget. Also not sure how the u8g and the Q70a compares, reviews of the Q70a seems to indicate its not a bad Tv. And the u8g looks OK on paper but some reviews shows it might not be.

Personally, I would try out the Toshiba. Its not thaaaat much more and it seems to have a lot more features. Also a lot less "false advertising" than the Hisense.

There are 55" models of the Toshiba. Should be available at Makro or Takealot.

I also looked at the Q60/Q70 for a while. Note, Samsung TVs do not have Dolby Vision.

Bare in mind, I am not one of the TV experts on the forum. I don't even have a TV at the moment.

Thank you for your advise, I do appreciate it.
The Toshiba does seem very good, but other than what @Pho3nix has posted on the Toshiba thread I'm not seeing enough evidence through honest and unbiased reviews and/or personal experience. The next step for me is to go in to makro or tafelberg furnishers etc and check out the units for myself.

Awesome.

Please report back, would like to hear your opinion.

Well I don’t work for Toshiba lol. What would you like me to say?

His situation is a bit difficult, With sport and any fast moving content i would avoid hisense. they have the worst motion interpolation of the lot, But hisense will be great in movies. The samsungs will not display any HDR so they would be bad for movies but will have good motion processing for sport compared to the Hisense. You cant have a TV that will be good with sport and movies for under R15k, It will be one or the other. If you want a tv that does well in both then R20k for the C1 and you are set.

I read somewhere(cant exactly remember where) but someone who owns the toshiba said it has the same motion processing issues as hisense. Is this the case in your experience?

Nope. Watched Top Gun and some action movies and no motion issues on 4K HDR content.

I’ll be trying F1 this weekend and some soccer at someone’s request and some more Xbox games.

Not sure if I’m just overly positive but I didn’t spend C1 money and I’m really happy with my purchase so far

Okay Sherlock, What sport do you watch? IF soccer does the ball not disappear sometimes and do you not see a trail of blur sometimes?

Can you try youtube and see how the motion is there, My Hisense doesn't have any motion issues on Netflix, it is flawless there, However on YouTube i see motion blur every now and then. Infact My samsung 43TU7000 or whatever its called performs way better than my hisense on Youtube.
