[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Yeah because what I think he is saying doesn't make sense to me. Could be misunderstanding him though.
Could be, cause yeah there is a ton of HDR content now, hell I think even Youtube has it

Youtube sure does have HDR, There is an abundance of HDR on Netflix, Prime, Disney. Most content that was shot after 2019 is in HDR..

Well if you dont know then it means you wouldn't care about that sort of stuff. Just that most new Netflix and Disney movies will be mastered in HDR to make them pop more than just regular 4K content. The E7H will be enough for your needs though.
But I think they say its got Hdr10, whatever that means

Yeah thats what it says on the box but it wont actually display HDR at all, You need Minimum of 700 nits to see any HDR benefits but preferably 1000 nits. You also need Full array local dimming. That TV is probably pushing 300/400 nits at most, and since it is a 50inch it probably has an ips panel which doesn't have good contrast to properly display HDR.

But like I said, it will work for you because you dont care for HDR. Nothing to worry about.

Well the LG C series can only do 800 at most, so not true HDR either.

Well its replacing a 15 year old LG FHD tv so I'm sure it should look a bit better. Specs say Qled and VA panel.
Must say, when I bought the Apple tv it made the picture quality of that old LG tv 2 times better. Would have even kept it if it wasn't for two thin verticals lines that you can see in some scenes.

But that is OLED. The infinite contrast makes up for it compared to LCD.
Look those blacks are inky, but damn the power draw when it needs to show me bright stuff, but it can do it cause the contrasts between dark and light are a lot better. The normal QLED ULED I got in my other lounge can sometimes show some grey which leads to a bit of a DSE compared to the OLED.

QLed just means it has a higher colour gamut, I am surprised it is a VA panel, usually 50 inch, 58inch and 70inch TVs have an ips panel. VA is usually on 55'' and 65''. But then in your case it doesn't really matter. Yeah Apple TV is a true MVP, it can turn any tv into a magical experience. I am sure you will enjoy the TV.

Yeah you dont really need 1000 nits on an OLED because of those gorgeous inky blacks. But then if you want a great picture quality you can complain about power consumption, You dont buy a V8 vehicle and then complain about fuel consumption. something has to give.

LCD with DSE and Blooming can really ruin the experience of a great movie.

I do complain :-P it's great for dark and inky black scenes down to the 80s, but boom 300 to 360. Throw in the soundbar + the Series X and I'm sitting at 500w no problems

On dark days like today when the sun don't shine :-). I track most areas to see what they use. But to be fair my PC can also hit 500w when gaming soooo
