[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

As much as I wanted to support "local", never again. Terrible software which is easily overcome with a MyTvStick purchase, but the Dirty screen effect barely 18 months into it ownership not acceptable. TV will be relegated to that place all obsolete tech goes. The Lapa.

Which model did you buy?

No DSE on mine thankfully, but to be fair I've only ever owned one hisense tv.

Got a sudden issue with my Hisense 55" TV ( I'll post model no. later )
TV been working fine in same location for months now.

Issue: Connects to WIFI but not internet.

Actually in settings, Internet, test - it says internet is good. Although opening any streaming app (Netflix, YouTube etc.) says can't connect to internet.
Done the usual - power cycle TV, power cycle router.
Factory reset TV - Nada

Anyone else had this before?

Update: Looks like the WiFi module on the TV is faulty.

Moved TV to router. Plugged in Ethernet cable and everything works. (Yes tested WIFI 1st)

Now just to get a longer length UTP for upstairs.

Sux that the Wifi module went, TV is only 2 years old.
Definitely buying different brand next time.

Been struggling with the Netflix issue since I bought my 50A6100UW in Nov 2018. Tried updating with the software on the Hisense Website, but that didn't work.
Then called Hisense, they sent me an Email link to a We-transfer update file. That didn't work.
PM'd Hisense SA here on MYBB, dude asked for the current ver. of Software, I sent it, and he then replied with another We-tranfser link to Software. Explained to update via the USB option (not as per the Hisense website video instructions).
That finally worked, and update installed. Thanks Hisense SA.

FYI for those with a 50A6100UW there seem to be 3 versions of updates:

1)If your firmware version starts with VA002, its the below firmware.
https://we.tl/t-Khc6CbchVz

2) If it starts with V0000, its the firmware on the Hisense website.
https://hisense.co.za/wp-content/uploads/patches/usb_HEA6100UWTS 2.bin

3) My tv's ver was V0000.01.00a.I0421, but the above did not work, so the software update that worked was in this link as received from Hisense SA on this forum.
https://we.tl/t-a65CHnWm1N

Is @Hisense SA still on this forum?

Anyone else maybe having the same issue as me?
Hisense TV refuses to connect to Netflix.
Youtube and all other apps work fine, but Netflix tries connecting but then eventually gives this error: tvq-st-106.
Have googled the issue and according to Netflix, the TV needs to be reset / Cache Cleared. Have done both and restarted the modem, but problem persists.

Anyone had any recent updates to their U8K?

Looking at the international variant it seems there are a few updates ahead of ours, some with decent improvements.

Caleb compares the Hisense U9N & the Sony Bravia 9 TV sets...

Can Hisense Knock Sony Off the Throne? | Bravia 9 vs. U9N - Digital Trends

The battle of the nines is here – the Sony Bravia 9 versus the Hisense U9N – and the results are closer than you might expect. Caleb Denison puts these two mini-LED heavyweights to the test, comparing everything from unboxing and build quality to picture performance and sound.

While the Sony Bravia 9 delivers a more refined experience with better motion handling and superior sound, the Hisense U9N stuns with its aggressive pricing and surprisingly accurate color right out of the box. Is the Bravia 9 worth the extra $500–$1000?

Watch to find out just how close Hisense gets to Sony’s flagship TV.
