Did a search but couldnt find any threads on the best footballing game ever :eek:
It was released yesterday but im not too sure when it will be available in our stores? Does anyone know.il hopefully get a copy this wkend.

Fifa = flossy and shiny with all the licenses and registered players.
Gameplay = decent

Pes = not enough licensed players and teams
Gameplay = amazing

To be fair on Fifa, Fifa10 is really a decent package overall but i just dont get the same realism in gameplay as i do with Pro Evo.i think too many guys who play Fifa dont actually know how to go outside and kick a ball or have never played for a club...well that seems the case with my fifa fanboi friends :rolleyes:
 
There are quite a few fan made patches to fix the unlicensed issue. I have the game, haven't played much yet since I have been busy but the little I have played I love. Love how my inter players look very very close to the real thing unlike the fifa player models.

Talking about the pc version here.

Fifa fan and great soccer player here.
I will admit that prior to Fifa 09 and PES 2009, PES was better.
But i liked the licenses... and the fact the FIFA is also sougtht of a footmanager type game.
Then Fifa 09, the best soccer game upto that point. All PES fans went quite for awhile.
But now comes FIFA 2010. The worst release ever.
All the advantages that made 09 great are gone.
The manager type game (for e.g. experience points so that you can improve your player manually) is also gone.
The worst is the scoring.
In 09 (PES always had this), you could score goals in so many different ways and crackers.
But 10, they made it so hard to score (unrealistic when you Torres cannot score in a 1 on 1 with GK by just placing the ball as in 09) that i have to resort scoring in the same way all the time (R1+SHOOT - to curl). Also If Gerrard cant even hit the target from 20 yards with his blistering shots.... I can go on but scoring is SH&TE.
So many other errors though some improvements.
For the first time i want to sell it and get PES but i awating for more reviews on which is better.

The scoring system is much easier than 09... ye given 1 on 1 is harder but that's the trick... you can't expect to score everytime you 1 on 1 by simply blasting your shot at the keeper, you need to outwit the keeper, scoring screamers is much eaiser!

PES10 is the shizznizz man. Got it recently (for PC) and haven't looked back. PES is finally back to it's best (though it means I score about as frequently as Sheldon gets laid) but at least I can defend again and the players aren't IMBA anymore AND you can run around an entire defence like in PES09. Damn it felt good to score in PES. :D

@matt - the FIFA thread was dominated by PES talk. There was also another thread only for PES that Cantera made. Ditto on stefan9's patch talk. There are already name fixes and HD Logos available (AFAIK) and I reckon the player kits will be out very very soon (mid/end Nov).

The only problem I have is that the goalie can be a tosspot sometimes though it's not as prevalent as PES6 was. Maybe it was just them programming Cech's inherent ballflopping weaknesses of the recent seasons into the game? :D


EDIT: OK so far, we only know what system stefan9 has PES on. What about the rest of you? I'm playing on PC. As soon as I get some international bandwidth I'll sign up to that Konami website (don't really know how the online component works yet...) and we can start a little MyBB league?

Not blasting at keeper. Placing the ball (it goes straight to keeper if you u running (holding R2), while 2 of 10 going into the corner i aimed at). Walking (not holding or pressing anything) gives more accuracy but thats not realistic.

And yes, any top striker will score 8 of of 10 on a 1 on 1. I dont see a difference with Torres or Ngog (with the 1 on 1), and i awlays have to use finesses shot which means scoring the same way over and over.
In my mind, scoring was more exciting in 09.
Then whats with the defender catching up with Torres and pushing him off the ball (when i do it its a foul - the game cheats). Realistically, which defender can firstly catch up with Torres in the first place and then if they do, take the ball away from him (go and ask Rio Ferdinand and Vidic - i say them cos they are 2 of the best but Torres gives them nightmares).
 
I started a PES10 thread but i am happy someone is commenting on the same lack of gameplay regarding FIFA!

I have PES10 on Xbox and it is mind blowingly good! For me the PES gameplay was what made it so much better than FIFA and PES10 does not dissapoint!

The game play is so fluent, there is no lag like in FIFA.

Its what real footballers play :cool:
 
Can we get some type of online thing going here.Iam tied of playing with lag against overseas players.Please post your nicks so we can start enoying the best part of PES , and thats the online feature.
 
I love PES. The gameplay is something else when compared to FIFA!! And I don't really care for manager mode so that's not an issue for me.

However, while having the actual Champion's League is awesome, playing it with "North London" kinda sucks:(

agreed! Fifa fanbois would K@K a brick if Pro Evo became fully licenced. they would see the light..... :cool:

well im going straight from work tonight to get my copy :D
never bought an original game yet but in this case i just cant wait for Platinum or for someone to trade in 2nd hand.i dont wanna be a bias fanboi so im hoping to get Fifa 10 around Xmas
 
Friend got it on Xbox, shall pay him a visit tomorrow and see whats the "hype" about :D

Unless you spend a fair amount of time getting used to it, you'll go back to FIFA very quickly. Think of it as trying to do without training wheels only to find that it's so much easier with them on.
 
Anybody know how to get online to work?? Keep getting unable to connect to the server.

Ive created a online community called "SAPES2010".This will make it easier to find SA people.There is no password to join.
