Petition : Mweb Uncapped 4mb performing the same as a 1mb package

Something is definitely going on with Mweb's network. At my work we are on a 4mb business uncapped account and we have been experiecing the same issues people are complaining about here. There are periods where it's great but most of the time the performace is erratic and inconsistent.

I thought I wait it out a bit incase there was a seacom problem or other network problem but nothing has been mentioned as such. This has specifically been happening since the beginning of last week with small indications of something is wrong before that.

Considering a lot of people are complaning about the same thing, logic would dictate it's not user specific.

I know of a couple of people that would like to subscribe to the normal 4mb uncapped account but this is seriously putting a halt to that, for now at least.

To the Mweb rep, please dig a little deeper and see whats going on. Thanks for the help.

My experience exactly, same time as well. I see you are also in Cape Town. I am wondering if it's in our area. Friends in JHB/pta has no Mweb related download issues with their line. Everything 100% there.
MWEB guy has been a lot of help but so far nothing has solved the issue. i'm thinking it's not something with the account but a infrastructure/line issues w.r.t Mweb. Just a guess though.

First time in a year that I have had this type of issue. So all in all MWEB is the best when it comes to uncapped. Just a little frustrating that we are used to awesome experience and now having a glitch. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.

For all the guys wanting to jump ship etc. I have been with literally the 7 ISP's that provide uncapped and MWEB beats them all by far.

Seems like moving to OpenWeb is the only alternate.
I don't mind the extra cost - as long as I can game internationally, download a little.
How would one get a 24h test account from MrBeep ? just PM ?

Hmmm the timing of this speed issues coincide with the Telkom bump from 512 to 1 MB. Could be that we are all just sharing more of the pie now.

yep, that might be one side of the coin, but loads of people including myself have accounts with other isp's , which seem to give alot better speeds

Ok 1 hour and 40 minutes to download a 680MB file on 4mbps. HUH? And no its not torrents / warez. Same file took me 28 minutes on the afrihost free 1GB a month account.

+1 /signs Durban westville sometimes good sometimes bad :( but not what it used to be....

Count me in. I havent been able to stream for awhile and my international is non-existent.

In Durban too.

Schitzo +1

not worth it at this stage, those just test local speeds, which are fine for most people who are having international issues :(

Hi Vaalpens

This information will assist us in pinpointing the trouble, we do understand that people are having trouble with international and other with streaming. The more people that does this the more help it will be to our investigation.

lol i know, was my suggestion...
but you need international links in there as well :P
as well as current line sync speeds

if the line isnt syncing at example 4096, or another integer of 1024, something like 3988 indicates there are issues on the line/dslam/exchange etc

Use to have no issues but the last weeks speeds have been low and youtube videos unwatchable.
