Petrol Price Drop Wednesday

Oh whoopy doo ...

January 2009 : ULP 93 was R5.82 per litre in Gauteng.
55 litre tank = R320

At R9.92/L a 55 litre tank of fuel will cost R545.60

Nice by 31 to 33c....

So in two months it will go up again with 80c :(
Yep - and when that happens South Africans across the country will take to the streets and protest the only way they know how - by filling up the night before. :o

Price wont go up againin coming unless something serious happens.
Price went up before this due to northern hemisphere winter and war in libya.

Lol, yes but it is also because we do not have a great array of choices :( Public transport is not for me thank you... but I do get what you are saying and yes we are a bit light on the "let us stand together" moments in this country.

I understand how and why the price rises (or rather what the "government" says on how they regulate the prices) but I feel that it is a bit of a lie....

I found this very interesting: http://www.sasol.com/sasol_internet/downloads/FuelPrice_calculation_SA_07_1170868230705.pdf

Stupid people are stupid...

If it always went down 20~30 to only rise by 80 a month later shouldn't it be around R16 per litre now since it was R10,50 in September 2008.

Daar is nie 'n pil vir domheid nie.

And in September 2008 it was around R10,50... R577.50 for 55 litres...

2009 RAF : 46.5 cents/L
2011 RAF : 80 cents/L

2009 fuel levy : 127 cents/L
2011 fuel levy : 177.5 cents/L

Total increase in RAF and fuel levy: 84cents/L
We should be paying closer to R9/L - not R10/L

Also take into account that the ZAR/USD exchange rate in Sept 2008 was around 8.06 ZAR/USD.
The Rand is a lot stronger at the moment.

I did not say it is cloak and dagger type of problems we face but i would love to see the oil price vs SA fuel price compar. graph for the last 5 years.

En ontspan, dit is net my opinie.

I love how they always say there will be a slight increase of 35c or similar but a major decrease of 16c

we will soon have to buy fuel in petrol drums and store them for years to come :D
