Hi Guys,

Any suggestions for a good cheap xfire capable mobo for the Phenom II procs? Would like the 780(or is it 790) chipset and SB750 southbridge at least. :D

If you ask me, I say that's an awesome board. It's what I would buy if I were to build a Phenom II right now.

Even has eSATA which is great. Don't forget that ASUS boards always have tonnes of overclocking options.

Copying to my new eSATA external drive, is faster than copy using some of my internal drives. It's really worth using eSATA over USB2.

Going for one of these boards...

MSI DKA790GX Platinum
Asus AMD M3A78-T Motherboard

Now I need a cooler. I want to OC at the end of the day... Any recommendations?

Take the Asus with the cooler master hyper tx2.

Das is good to know. :D

Any comments on this mobo?

Edit:

Check out the Biostar TA790GX 128M. Its Xfire compatible picked mine up yesterday and from what I heard they pretty great boards.

BTW got mine for around R1100

Price : R1340

If you like this board contact me and I can organise it for you at a better price than take2. Im in the Pretoria area

Johnny h told me about this mobo as well. :D

Read up a bit on anandtech, some people have had success at unlocking fourth core on their Phenom II 720s which is the cpu I got. But only certain batches. Nevertheless check reviews on newegg or anandtech forums.

Mine is still sitting in my cupboard (waiting on PSU) so I can't give you personal feedback

Sweet
