Hey guys, decided to buy one after numerous mates raved about the Philip air fryer. Is the XL big enough or should I rather save and go for the XXL ? Cooking for 4 (As I always cook extra for lunch)
XL is good enough.

XXL size increase doesn't justify the extra cost. Accessories for XXL are also more expensive and difficult to find.

To put it this way - if you're cooking for 4 and think that you only have to do one load with the XXL, you'd be wrong. If you have to do 2 loads on the XL, chances are you'll have to do 2 loads on the XXL too...

Can you roast a whole chicken in the XL ?
I regularly do a full chicken.. in pieces but, it's a full chickens worth of pieces.. a full chicken will fit, sure of it..

There is virtually no size difference between the XL and XXL.. it's 5mm difference between basket sizes, if that much.. the name is quite misleading in this regard..

My goto method for red meat...
  1. From packaging > properly towel dry both sides
  2. Rub with salt both sides > rub with spices both sides
  3. Let stand outside for 60 mins > oil both sides
  4. 8 by 6 mins in the airfryer on 180 turning after 8
  5. proceed to eat (if you rest them, then arrange them as in the image, I did that because of fitting already 3 on my plate before getting into the last two)

two of the lamb rumps left

I recall it’s about 200ml in volume but I might be wrong.
Admittedly I didn't pay particular attention to the difference in height of the baskets but, I don't recall there being much of a difference height wise..

Just got a white XL from S&H today, at basically half the price.

made some roast baby potatoes to try it out, 180 for 25 minutes shaking at about 10 minutes.

probably could have done with an extra couple minutes at max temp.

but so far seems a treat, and I think is going to make a great duo with the xioami induction cooker

Trick is to first leave them in water for a while 40-60 mins, dry them, add oil.

Then for wedges I normally do 160 long followed by 180 short. From top my head I think it was 20mins 160 and then 8/8 or 10/6 for 180. I add any spices at very end.

will try the water trick. I assume this is to remove starch?

I think some sort of oil spray would be useful, as it was kind of a waste to dirty a bowl to toss them in the oil. This might also be useful for chicken
