I started using Photoshop about 12 years ago when it was all the craze to take the image of a motorcar and "pimp" it. That was where I started to learn the basics of Photoshop and my skills improved over the years, 12 years down the line I'm older and wiser and rarely use Photoshop the "pimp" cars, instead I've been using it to retouch old damaged photos, correcting my own photos that I take and something totally new that I came accross the other day - surreal photo manipulation.

I upgraded from CS3 to CS6 just over a week ago and decided to try some surreal photo manipulations. This is my first try and it's still a work in progress.

Wow, simply amazing!! Please do post more, I would love to see!!!

That's pretty cool Dom1n8tr1x ;)

Yeah do you have a Deviantart page?

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments, I will post up some more of my work once I have some more done. I'm a perfectionist so I don't post something until I'm absolutely satisfied with it.

Here is the background image that I started with for those interested in knowing what the unedited image looked like.

Wow stunning!! You are very talented!!! I look forward to more of your work!

Top 12MP images used to create the square vertical pano. It was shot around noon, so I purposely underexposed. This was to not overexpose the white shed and clouds. Corrected during RAW conversion. Slight colour/contrast adjustments done after stitch and slight crop. Vertical pano is 4200px on each side @ full resolution.

I like what you've done Dom1n8tr1x. The only thing which is a little distracting for me, is the reflection in the watering hole that doesn't match the sky.

Nice pano, old buildings is one of my favourite subjects to shoot. I would love to try my hand at planet pano's, you can get really nice results if you shoot a good scene.

This pic is going on my desktop.
Great work dude.

Thank you for your input. Would you suggest that I use more clouds like this:

ZsqrX.jpg

Sample a portion of the clouds from very low on the horizon. It'll help you figure out what portion to use if you take a mirror and arrange a mock of this scene where the mirror represents the water you're using. Then take a checkered or otherwise patterned piece of cloth and drape it over the scene, trying to find the correct location so it'll reflect in the framing you've got on your camera.
