Pick and Pay

Had the same experience at the same store, I said no to the R25 bag. I could carry the little I bought with some juggling to the car.

Why don't PnP put up notices, I do have a bag in the boot so a reminder would be great.
The bolded bit. Why is it only told to customers at the till?

But that is exactly what pisses me off, no notice, just after you've unpacked your trolley are you informed that now each bag is R25.

I can only imagine some decision makers family is involved in the manufacture of these bags.

I carry my own bags. Why use plastic an pollute??? Start using jute bags or cloth bags. Please think about your contribution to planet earth

I suppose you drive a Yaris, and never eat meat either?

Do the same. I just keep them in my boot and whip them out when going shopping. Take out groceries at home and back in the boot.

We recycle and have a worm bin at home as well. Our household waste is half a pnp plastic bag a week that goes to landfill...

My word stick your head in the sand and keep adding to the problem. You can reduce your waste. I love my meat just add the odd veg meal here and there to reduce that.

Unpack your groceries at home and then put the bags into the car. That's what I do.

Good idea.
We reuse them as bin liners for our indoors rubbish bin, but we have a Checkers cloth bag in the door storage of the car - which we invariably forget to take into the shop.

If you order online do they bring their own cloth bags?

Colour me impressed. You walk everywhere, so I assume dont own a car. How do you warm water and make food though with no electricity? How the hell are you posting here with no PC?

We have a couple of worm bins at home, also. Do you keep yours indoors?

 New lyrics for Katy Perry:

"... do you ever feel
like a plastic bag
no more use for you
no one to pack your crap..."

The local Fruit and veg city also stopped with plastic bags and now have these ""reusable"" paper bags at like R1 or something? I have not gone since. The local Pnp also has a small nude fruit and veg section even though they are not on the list of Pnp stores to test that new section, with the R7.50 bags and all...

It is starting :(

The big issue I have is that we tend to forget the bags at home or in the car/shop more than anticipated or an opportunity presents itself while traveling and you have a card and your two hands with you and nothing else...

I like the idea of taking checkers bags to pick n pay.

On the stoep just under the roof. Then they don't over heat
We were more scared of them getting too cold, so we pack them with iced water in bottles in the summer.
But I think it's time for them to move outside, when this winter is over.
