Pick 'n Pay leftover pies

can we keep politics and schit out of the food threads ?

move discussions to CA or somewhere else :)

here we like to talk about food ..so if you are buying something food related from woolies and pnp and its good

we like to know about it

if you want to go and buy it ..its your own choice

Ook,

Please bring the product back to us, The label on the day old pies should be 19.08.201. The reason this is black out is that the scale label which is printed gives Pies a two day shelf life. The mark down pies are from the previous day so it would be misleading to leave the expiry date as the 19th so be black it out., as these pies expiry date should be the 18th .

I have be considering stopping these mark down completely, however many of my customers appreciate the low cost of these product which are expiry the same day.

I hope the above makes sense, please ask to speak to Darryl my Service Area Manager when you come in. We really need to see that label. It shouldn’t be the 13 -08-2014 it should read 19 -08 -2014 which has been black out.

Looking forward to getting to the bottom of this.

Regards

Thanks for deleting my post.
Wonder why thread cleanup was so effective. :P

Usually the machine prints out the "sell by date" a day later

We don't know why it chose to print the 13th... but as the manager explained it to me, they set their machines to print out the date a day in advance.

May be operator error, but then why would they black out the sell by date?

I asked for a refund, valued my time (and health) too much just for a simple error.... Liewer Bangjan as Dooie Jan!!!

donnerdag. all this pie talk has me craving a mans meal pie and a pineapple marshall. :(

I worked in a P&P deli (franchise) when I was 16 during the school holidays, this is what I was told to do:

Day 1: Remove all the expired whole chickens from the fridge, take them to the deli get them cooked, sell as whole cooked whole chickens, end of the day store unsold whole chickens in deli fridge

Day 2: remove whole chickens from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 3: remove whole chickens from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 4: cut chicken into pieces and place on deli counter to sell all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 5: remove chicken pieces from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 6: Shred chicken from the unsold chicken pieces and make chicken mayo mix, place mix in the deli under counter fridge. End of day return to fridge.

Day 7: remove from fridge place in deli undercounted fridge, end of day return to fridge.

Day 8: Remove chicken mayo from fridge and make chicken mayo saamies. display above counter, end of day return to fridge.

Day 9: remove from fridge and return to deli counter top.

End of day 9.... The bin..... after approval..!

I don’t eat from store deli’s anymore….!
