Pick 'n Pay leftover pies

I worked in a P&P deli (franchise) when I was 16 during the school holidays, this is what I was told to do:

Day 1: Remove all the expired whole chickens from the fridge, take them to the deli get them cooked, sell as whole cooked whole chickens, end of the day store unsold whole chickens in deli fridge

Day 2: remove whole chickens from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 3: remove whole chickens from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 4: cut chicken into pieces and place on deli counter to sell all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 5: remove chicken pieces from fridge place on deli counter all day, end of day return to fridge

Day 6: Shred chicken from the unsold chicken pieces and make chicken mayo mix, place mix in the deli under counter fridge. End of day return to fridge.

Day 7: remove from fridge place in deli undercounted fridge, end of day return to fridge.

Day 8: Remove chicken mayo from fridge and make chicken mayo saamies. display above counter, end of day return to fridge.

Day 9: remove from fridge and return to deli counter top.

End of day 9.... The bin..... after approval..!

I don’t eat from store deli’s anymore….!

Franchises are generally run anyway they want. Thats why we had the pie incident from the OP. Having said that I wouldnt eat from any deli in any retailer. Especially Checkers. Know a few guys in retail.

Yor that place when it's busy. Leka deermekaar! Then I stand outside. I wanted to ask where his from. Pnp usually don't have grilled chicken when I'm looking at night.

You literally changed my entire outlook on deli foods, can anyone else corroborate these facts as commonplace in supermarket deli's? Sorry I'm not trying to derail the thread, by the way OP, have they apologized for the error at least?

haha vangate is the worst pnp ever ...close to home though so have to have patience

and yeah not sure what farm he is from ..cause most pnps i see dont have stuff at closing time

iv never bought at the deli cause deli food from pnp and spars dont do it for me

I rather buy fresh thinly sliced biltong from a butcher and PnP/Spar bread rolls than buy anything from a PnP/Spar deli...

True story... It wasn't about cooking what was needed it was about cooking all expired stock...

I suggest you get drunk and eat them pies at around 2am, I promise they will taste delicious, probably the best pies you have ever slurped up..

that is indeed quite a phenomenon.

at 4am, street food served from a cart on the pavement is often regarded as haute cuisine

+10... Those boerewors rolls from Mohammad's Boerewors stand on Long street were the bomb at 4am in the morning..

Had that happen to me before a few times before. Best way to go about it is demand to talk to the manager and then **** on him. And next time buy your **** at woolworths.
