Pick'n'Pay AIM TVs discussion

Well the AIM 58" was R3999 at one point, the Telefunken could be a diamond in the rough, though I am imagining the menu is going to be limited.
Ja, miffed now to have missed it.
I'm away in Robertson for the weekend and signal isn't the best to do more hunting.

But that deal Rouxenator got was sweet.

The 75inch is an AIM TV as well.
But realistically it was going to be too large for the office space I'm adding on at home. Would've been fun, but overkill

Going to investigate the Telefunken some more.

Edit:
Oh and not too concerned about menu options. A MiBox or Chromecast will do for me.

It's picture quality I'm after and a refresh rate that's good enough for at least 1440p Xbox Gaming. The 75inch was purely an opportunity to bolster my console Microsoft Flight Simulator experience on console.

It's more then likely going to be 60hz like most TVs currently.

I did not do a video on it, except for the peel video. I did post some pics of it in this thread though.

Considering the massive jump in price to go to 75" I'll be sticking with the 58" and my Telkom LiT box.

13 of the 58 inch UHD tvs left in the Western Cape at R4500. Just phoned my local PnP as they are sold out, can possibly get one from a CT branch.

Not fair really, I mean it's not even on sale here in Gauteng and when it was it was R6k

My local PnP came back to me and send those 13 are returns so they wont be able to get one for me. BUMMER wouldve been an awesome deal

CRT TV guy having a quick comment here...In around 30 years of CRT repairs I thought I had seen it all as far cockroach infestation goes.....nope.

Flat screen TV'S are the new cockroach haven for filthy owners of people who run dirty houses.

****ing disgusting.

R30 000 Flat screen stops working. Cockroaches pour out when it's opened on the bench............

No EHT to shock cockroaches and kill at least some with CRT. No. They just breed and **** everything up.

People buying flat screen TV'S here always have nice houses. Big, beautiful, expensive houses. Nice cars. Mostly drive BMW or Merc.

And work for ANC government.

What? Flat screens have been around for 16 years now, doubt anyone can still buy a CRT.

Would not use one, 4ven if I could buy one. Wrong aspect ratio. Not that I watch a lot of TV, but I don't like letter box video.

As a child growing up on a farm I have seen that - CRTs with cockroaches climbing in and out of them. It was quiet sad actually because the workers would sign up for ridiculous furniture loans at Bears/Russels/etc when they could barely afford food for all their children (after spending a solid chunk on booze of course). Not long after their fancy new TVs stop working because a cockroach shorted out something somewhere inside it. My dad would try and help by taking it into to town to the TV repair shop but they soon told him that before he brings in anymore TVs he needs to put them in a black bag, spray Doom inside it and let is stand for at least 3 days.

I can imagine it is far worse with flat screens. So much more room inside and it is nice and toasty.
