Item wanted (be very descriptive): TV of 55"or bigger, must come with remote. The stand it came with would be nice but not required as I will wall mount it. Must have at least 2x 10w sound since I don't do sound bars. Ideally UHD but I might entertain FHD options
Is packaging essential?: Nope
Desired age and condition: Age is not a problem, but it needs to be in good condition with no damage.
Location: Cape Town / Stellenbosch
Willing to accept a shipped item: No, I'll come get it.

The reason I am making this wanted post is I need to replace die dying 51" plasma we have at the holiday house. Instead of buying new perhaps there is someone that is looking for a reason to upgrade - here is the reason you are looking for.

That is the one I have my sights set on.

I made this post because that is how I got the dying Samsung plasma for R2k. I told the guy you have any TVs you wanna get rid of and he was like no..... yes..... maybe...... I'll call you in the morning.

Your Hisense did catch my eye, and I know a very good repair guy that can fix that for you. But for now I need something that will run as is.

Was also kinda bargaining on someone that mounted their TV on the wall and lost the stand, because I have a universal as back-up, but could make for a good bargaining point.

Works for me, I am just worried about the sound. 10w x 2 is what we are used to. After my last 51" Samsung PDP I got a hifi-corruption Sansui with 8w x 2 and it was s...t
The next day I returned it for the Hisense 50"we have now, this was 2015 and last year I did repair the LED driver and hope to get more use out of this TV. However if I can send it off to our holiday house and replace it with a TV with the same or better specs I would be happy.

Only concerns on the AIM is the sound and serviceability of it. Two things that highly impressed me on my just out of warranty Hisense

Maybe something Roux? But in Worcester

Was about to post here, but I see my KS8500 has already been posted. :)

Took the plunge and bought this in store. I had no time to event take off the tape, we had do make a dash with the old Hisense to the West Coast.
The picture quality is OK, the sound it absolutely terrible. My 2x10watt Hisense is a million times better. Looks like I'll have to get a soundbar....

I would rather buy a TV with side bezels that have decent speakers than one with crappy down firing speakers.

For those with decent speakers, you may as well get the ones with down firing and a decent sound bar to compliment it

Both the Samsung PDP and Hisense D-LED I own have proper down firing speakers, the Samsung has a really deep bass and excellent sound quality, pity the PDP is dying. The Hisense has a decent 2x10watt setup that never let me down.

The 58" AIM makes my ears bleed, heck, is that even 2x8watt or is it less? I am looking at a 60watt 2.0 Hisense soundbar now.

The hisense sound isn't too bad, it's not brilliant I mean the 46" I had before had much better sound. But the Hisense did its job, never really went above 20.
How is the pic quality of the 58" in comparison?

I am pretty keen to get back home and have a closer look at the AIM. So far I could see the difference going 4K with the much smaller pixels, they were noticeable on the 50" FHD Hisense. I already went 4K on my PC and it is like seeing with new eyes, but that is sitting closer to the screen. Sitting on the couch if you looked real good you could see the pixels on the Hisense.

Here at the holiday house everyone remarked that the Hisense D-LED has a nicer picture quality than the Samsung PDP, so I am happy about that. Also happy to ditch the clunky "smart" features of the Sammy for a Mi TV stick with the Hisense.

As for the AIM back home, I'll get back to you when I have had a closer look. The menus are even more primitive that on the Hisense though, I suspect they have the same UI running on everything from their smallest TV up to their 75".
