Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!

Just being snarky, but that pizza looks like ***. I'm sure it was very tasty, just aesthetically I wouldn't score it high. No offense intended though.
Ah, I understand. That might be the photo's fault, though. Not sure you can see, but those are actually four rough slices piled on top of each other, not one pizza.

This might give you a better idea of what the pizza looked like before I piled the slices on top of each other. Same form, different toppings. I won't argue with the fact that I still have a lot to learn, though.

how do you wash ..just water ?
Typically wipe with damp cloth. The stone pulls moisture out from anything you put on it . Read the instructions, it will explain everything.

It was the end of soggy home pizza after that

It's been years since I bought commercial pizza.

I get bases from La Padrino and then go to town with various combos. Chicken or steak cubes with either avo, pineapple and green chillies - out of this world.
Added cheese of course but it works out to half to what you normally pay at the franchises.

Must have a fee holed pans tho.

The people saying their homemade pizzas are the same or better than a restaurant's are probably the same people who say movies look better at their house, with sound to match. (And then they're watching 2000 Kb/s movies!) I have yet to see a good-looking homemade pizza on MyBB.

And yet that's exactly what professional chefs like Jamie Oliver have been saying for years: It's not only faster, but cheaper and tastier to make your own pizzas (and everything else, like steaks, roasts, bread...) at home. Cooking isn't magic, it's a skill that requires practice.

Sadly, if, like you, people convince themselves it can't be done they will also never discover the joy of it.

I often make my own pizzas at home.

But sometimes the instructions on the box aren't accurate for my oven and I burn the base, or make it doughy. Probably should defrost them first I guess.

What's more important, looks or taste?

that dough looks good ...
Tastes good too. https://www.marthastewart.com/332275/basic-pizza-dough

I'm lazy so I use a bread machine on the pasta setting to do the kneading.

FWIW I use the "stone" from one of these things. Seems to do an adequate job but I'm keeping my eyes open for something better.

I've never had a nice pizza that looked like sh*t. Pizza isn't like soup or an average potjie at a braai where you just lump in as much as you want and still get decent results.

What’s your idea of a great tasting pizza?

Fortune favored me today I think. Walked into kloppers and this was on special still from yesterday. R139.

A fluffy thick base with a bit of sauce, cheese and a meat of your choice. Don't go overboard with the cheese and meat. People throw too much k*k on their homemade pizzas.

I had Debonairs on Friday  The taste was alright, and that's being generous, but the base was pure sh*t. I don't understand how people give Domino's crap for their base but they like Debonairs' offering.
