Plasma TV nightmare

Nope - I've had similar experiences with Samsung - took ages to get them to refund me on a home theater... bloody thing didn't work properly with a PS3, constant HDMI handshake issues where I had to turn on and off the system.... their solution was to not use my PS3 with the home theater, the whole reason I bought it.

Took ages to get to someone high enough to accept it as a fault and refund me. Think I had about five complaints on hellopeter until someone with half a brain accepted it as a known fault with the system.

The specific system sold for R8,500 - I saw it about a year later for R3,000 in stores, searched for the system in google, and discovered 1000's of reports on the AV receiver failing just out of warranty, was glad to be rid of that.

Also had to change my Samsung LCD three times in a row for dead pixels... fortunately, that was painless as I insisted Game exchange it on the spot.

Glad I’m not alone on this, i probably called Samsung 20 times (if not more) for someone to help me with my problem, you really get the impression that they just could not care less about you or your problems (and yes, im talking about Samsung directly, not the repair agents)

They agreed to collect the set at 12:30 but guess what...no show after an hour. I'm stuck with a POS Samsung TV :(

20110408 - Called Advanced Electronics (Samsung repair agents) four times, between 11:00 and 16:00, and phone was not answered.

Yeah that's them. Same punks fixed my set about a year ago. Could never get through to them. They claimed their telephone lines were faulty!! Alex was the technician who I dealt with at the time. Was a frustrating process and when I did finally get my set back the stand was dusty and scratched and the set itself dusty and dirty!!!

Seriously, Samsung's after market service is nothing short of appalling and their doesn't seem to be any inclination within the company to change that!! Maybe CPA will force change but I doubt it!

I'm afraid mine will come back scratched considering the way it was placed inside the van. A new set will be demanded of course!

Update: Advanced Electronics are waiting for a new panel from Samsung which should be delivered sometime this week according to some cake from Samsung. I asked him why it takes almost two weeks to get a part when these sets are manufactured in SA and he had no idea. They didn't even have the courtesy to return my call yesterday as promised. Great customer service Samsung

Ja, same here, i called them each week on Monday, and each week Monday they promised they will get the part some time in the week and they will call me back, this went on 4 weeks (not a singe call from them) until the 21 day repair windows was void, so i called them and said i want a new one, that's when they dropped it of at my house and informed me i must take it back to the place of purchase to get it switched, that's when the real nightmare started
i really hope for your part they get it fixed in the 21day window

-just a side note, the 21 day period has weekends included (not only working days), which means exactly 21 days after the repair agents took it they have to fix it

Thats shocking. So they can just stall for 21 days and then it's not their responsibility anymore....? :wtf:

It seems like they're trying to avoid me at all costs. The repair agents aren't following up or keep me updated either. Will wait and see...

Seems so but they have no idea what awaits them if they try it with me

I think it works like this, they take the plasma, the technician has a look what’s wrong, they call Samsung and tell them the parts they need, and that’s where it stays, i don’t think they take it up with Samsung or call them on a regular basis to find out where the parts are, they just wait it out (well that’s the feeling i got)
What’s even more strange, we did not use the same repair agents, I’m in Pretoria, but looks like all Samsung Repair agents has the same attitude, scr3w the customer, they are not paying us

My set was delivered yesterday and is now as good as new with the new panel :D

Congrats, I've got a PS50C430 and I'm not sure if I've got a problem or not. When the screen shows black and I'm very close to screen it shows Red/green(I'm colour blind) specs dancing around on the screen. It doesn't bother me at my normal viewing distance, I would like to know if this is the same issue that you had?
