There's a place outside PE on the way to Grahamstown called "Nanage farm stall"; their buffet breakfasts are awesome and cheap to (cost about R50). Before they weigh your food, they weigh an empty plate and subtract the plate weight from your plate and food weight in front of you.

I was there on Sunday (driving back to EL after the rugby). Purchased a box of Lamb and Mint pies. While East London has superior pies in our Shamrock pies (steak pie, pepper steak pie, tandoori chicken and curry steak), the variety lacks. Thats where Beavers in Port Alfred (they do a good lamb and mint and they also have a monkeygland pie) and Nanaga farm store come in (they also produce a good lamb mint pie and have a decent feta and spinach pie).

I went to one in Luanda, lunch was always about $40ish. Much cheaper than going to a regular restaurant where I'd pay double that.

I prefer the egg and bacon roosterkoek but I always pick up a few pies for the family on my way back to PE. During cricket season I seem to go past there every other week.

Don't forget to weight the empty plate every now and then -- should record ZERO!
(they do this a lot more in Brazil... and occasionally they give you a 'heavier' plate). I keep meaning to do the same thing at Food Lovers Market where they do this, but I keep forgetting :)
