Nvm, I see he has. I've never had stuttering issues with VLC before, so it's strange.

Are you using a HDMI v2.0 cable or 1.4? You need HDMI 2.0 for UHD.

Had the same issue with a 50-odd GB video, during some busy scenes. I updated VLC and played with the Video Quality Post Processing Setting.


Which solved the issue for said video, but my media players CPU/GPU can't handle the 2160p x265 10bit 7.1.Atmos combo, so I am limiting what I am watching these days.

That being said, my panel is 1080p, so this really doesn't bother me much.

Keep in mind that these files are huge, so benchmark you storage media and see if you are achieving the read speeds needed.

Tried Backdraft at 34 gigs plays fine, I think its the file

I recall similar issues for me with playing movies that had 10bit color. Never actually thought to find out why, instead just grabbed something else.
