Playing Games Slowly

What is "KPIs"?"

As someone who's been gaming since, what even was it, 2000? Not counting my teens as back then highschool days were spent playing rugby and chasing skirts unlike todays generation of snowflakes fapping to furries on their cell phones. I mean actual gaming, not tourist wannabe gaming. 5-7h a sitting gaming and double that on weekends.

Let me tell you the secret to enjoy gaming -

Stop listening to your friends.

I like it reaaaaaal slow as well, like “ be gentle “ causally?!

Maybe I’m getting old.

And fat..

I play games as slowly as possible

Which is why I will never move away from PC
Modding is just too important

Cyberpunk for example, as the video uses
I've modded real life needs like eating, drinking, sleeping and unwinding after a bloody gun fight.
I've also modded out fast traveling, so I need to drive everywhere or use the train

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Hardcore mode is a must. Also, no fast traveling and eating and resting is more important

Fallout 4, Even Red Dead Redemption 2, all modded to create a slower paced experience and to make it a requirement to stop quest rushing and sometimes just to stop at a tavern or pub, rest, eat, listen to NPC jibber jabber and just taking in the atmosphere

Developers spent years creating these vast, detailed worlds and cities. Some of them with insane detail we don't even realise. (Just watch Any Austin on youtube)
It's a shame to just rush through them just to complete them and move on. It's a playstyle that will never make sense to me

Yeah I play all my games very slowly too. I go everywhere, explore, do everything, take in the sights, take 1000s of screenshots haha.

I don't even fast travel, ever. In Skyrim For example, if someone sends me on a simple fetch quest to the other side of the map, I run there. Who knows what I'll find or see along the way. Then I run all the way back again. Fast travelling to me in a game is a completely useless feature.

In games like Cyberpunk I just cruise around the map in between missions doing absolutely nothing. By car or on foot. Love just exploring the city and soaking in the atmosphere.

In games like GTA I'll even role play and stop at red lights. And I enjoy bowling with my cousin :)

Hate rushing in games, what's the point?

I tend to rush because there are just so many other things out there, other games, movies, series.

Wow

That's a false equivalence though.
Not having time to finish every little side quest in cyberpunk/skyrim/whatever is not to "rush through them just to complete them".
The rest of us have real life responsibilities.

I play games for the story, not to plat them by finding every bib and bob.

If Dev's would put game-worthy reasons to explore, I would, I just refuse to do it cause chievement.

I am busy with Forza Horizon 5. I love the free roam. You get to see "Mexico" like a tourist without the heat and humidity.

It is a racing game but not everything has a time limit that you need to race about. Also, not using fast travel. Much more fun drive everywhere.

I fell into Twitch trap about 8 years ago when Pubg first came out, and for probably 5 years after that, I was chasing the "hype" train on what is the latest best multiplayer title. Fortnite, Warzone, Apex, Tarkov etc. Grinding wins and loadouts. Then about 2 years ago, I crashed so to speak where I just had the utmost fatigue for any gaming. Left the multiplayer scene all together, Discord channels included.

Went back to why I love gaming in the first place, which is the escape from everyday life. Have been just playing single player titles for the last 2-3 years, caught up with everything I never had time to play over the last 10 years and yeah just taking it slow, playing a title over 2-3 months, maybe not play anything for a month or so and then pick something up again.

i take my time in games. I like to explore a bit so that I can find hidden objects and upgrades. I fear that I may be missing out and by not exploring, I may be underpowered later on in the game.

Then a game like Resident Evil 2 Remake, I took my sweet time clearing out rooms. Don't want any surprises when going back for something.

But I do generally enjoy seeing the environment. A game like GTA needs the map to be explored thoroughly.

I don't?
I don't play games just to do quests. I RP within an RPG. Even if I only have an hour and a half a day

Everyone plays their own way, however you enjoy it is your business

I just don't play a game just to finish it

I've only ever 100% two games

I also don't play for achievements
There seems to be a misconception to what I said

I think it's in this forum somewhere, where I was mocked for complaining that the traffic lights in Cyberpunk always turn green as soon as the player drives up to them

I am quite interested to see what GTA6 delivers

I stress my RTX3060 may not be able to run it properly

However, I doubt it will have the level of realism that RDR2 had

A lot of people complained that RDR2's mechanics made the game 'too slow'

They also removed a lot from GTA V that was in GTAIV for the same reasons
6 may be even more dumbed down

Man, if there is one game that has a world which feels like it is properly "alive", definitely RDR2. (KCD, Witcher 3 would be my other picks)

Yup one of the only things I hate about the game. Breaks the immersion if you just want to take things slowly and roleplay/follow traffic rules.

That plus the drivers behind you would get impatient too quickly when you've stopped and they would crash into the back of your car. GTA is guilty of that too but at least in GTA the AI is a bit better at avoiding your car.
