PlayOn in SA?

Hi. Does anybody use PlayOn? www.playon.tv. There's not much info on this site about this.

I've just set up UnoTelly and in the process of setting up Netflix and Hulu, but they don't have live TV such as sports, Disney, NatGeo, MTV, etc and I've come across this Playon which seems to offer some live TV channels.

Basically, what's the catch? Does it work here in SA and for the Playon subscription fee can we access these channels.

My setup is 4Mb adsl into a Telkom Duoplus modem wired to my PC and to a wireless access point / range extender sending wireless signal to an android RK3188 TV box connected to my TV.

Being able to access live sports, albeit coming from overseas, without the insane dstv pricetag would be a total victory!

I have a playon HD and they are crap. The interface is buggy and the software seldom works. I would rather go with the WD TV Live if I ware you

AFAIK those live TV channels require a cable sub with a payTV operator in which ever country you are trying to access and you sign in with your account details to watch, I think PlayOn is exactly the same as UnoTelly in what they offer

Ah so it's basically just a portal to those channels like Unotelly? I already have Unotelly for the DNS router.

He isnt talking about the device you chop. And no its not that bad, had mine for ages and its great, bit outdated now yes

Trialing this and it still sucks, the quality of the recordings is terrible for Hulu and Directv, I'm wondering who in their right mind would ever pay for this?

Tested on i7, 8gb, ssd using 10mb fibre, 20mb adsl and 20mb vdsl and they "record" terrible video quality.
