I decided to pop in a new drive and go for Mint 17.1, usually a server guy so never really bothered with Linux desktops.

My windows drive is still in the PC and accessible, and I was wondering if I can somehow map my World of Warcraft/Hearthstone/Starcraft/Diablo 3 directory that's on my windows drive to PlayOnLinux and have it run from there?

Quite the n00b with this UI stuff :D

I highly doubt it. You will have to install from within playonlinux/wine.

Yea I did that, just couldn't get the battle.net launcher to work properly, even though a lot of people seem to make out it's an easy thing to do somehow.

One thing I didn't expect when installing linux on the new drive, is when linux detected there's a different operating system on a different drive, it gave me the option to boot up in it, even though the primary boot drive is now linux. Reminds me of a very friendly person inviting you in for a cool drink on a hot day, where as MS is like "no cool drinks for you!!!"

Be careful

I read that people running Diablo3 on Wine etc were getting banned for "modifying" the game.

*Edit:
This was a while back:

Yea that was a while back and most of the people got back their accounts AFAIK. This was back when there was duping going on etc

I got the battle.net client to work and I can start WoW for example, but it starts in 800x600. Whenever I set it to my 1920x setting that I know it can handle it spazzes out and looks like it stalls Mint 17.1 (even though alt+ctrl+del works in the background I figured it out later)

Highly annoying. Not sure what to check

What versions of wine and playonlinux do you have installed?

The latest ones from the repo. I think I'm running 1.7.39 64bit wine

I did try their WoW template that installed 1.5.something but I need my other Blizzard games to work too, not just WoW

Followed most of the tutorials out there but alas, no joy
