Just got an email from PSN:

Your PlayStation®Plus renewal price is due to increase slightly

Due to various market conditions, the price of your PlayStation Plus subscription is going to rise slightly. On*01/10/2014*the price of a 12 month subscription will rise from ZAR489.00 to ZAR749.00.

So the new definition of "SLIGHTLY" is a 53% increase?

Yeah, I enjoyed the free games (although the quality has massively dropped in the last few months, down to being pretty much indie crap) and the cloud saving. But seriously Sony, get ****ed. Cancelling.

Doubtful, why would they increase yearly massively and leave monthly the same? Then no-one would buy the yearly, the whole reason for that was the saving
 
Just logged in from my phone and it was still the same price. Tried to buy but no luck. Now it won't log in and neither will the console. Service is currently undergoing maintenance. Probably because everyone rushed to buy new subscriptions and overlaoded the servers.
 
R69.00 - R99.00 monthly
R145 - R219.00 for 3 months.

Problem is, if you don't renew and have a PS4 then no multiplayer, I think Sony might be shooting themselves in the foot a bit here?
 
Can you buy the renewal from us and activate on SA account, don't think so some how?? That is not a "slight" increase??
 
I'm definitely not renewing now, their free monthly games for PS4 have been pants compared to the PS3/Vita offers.
 
So an average game size is 10 gigs. At R18 per gig thats R180 per game data only. Plus then now R750 per year which is R60 per month so R240 per game per month. Really basic calc but you get the economies of scale here. No thanks Sony. Just cancelled auto renew for next year. Cheers.

Meh @ size. On uncapped so it's a non-issue, in fact I would keep PS Plus if it meant I could download digital copies of the games I bought so I didn't have to swap discs.
 
When you buy 12 months now, will it actually add it on top of the remaining period or will it start now?

That definition of slight increase is a joke.
 
Screw this...... anyone in the market for a ps3 with 2 controllers, charge station, Ps move and couple of games ....... including the God of War complete collection.
