Hi

I bought SSD drive for my hp laptop.

I didn't buy usb cable for plugging the drive, I didn't buy HDD caddy to use both SSD and HDD.

I will be using SSD for now. It's 120GB WD Green.

Is there a way I can transmit system on SSD using usb stick? As I don't have usb cable for drive?

Please advise on what to do.

My drive C used 14GB and I have 16 GB usb

Is there a way I can copy dri8c to usb and then boot from usb and transfer to Installed SSD?

Please advise

You should be able to create a bootable usb disk and backup your c drive to it, then insert the new drive and restore form USB...

Have a look at Macrium reflect free. There are probably some guides on YouTube. Check of you can't reduce the 14gb.
I'm not sure everything will fit on the 16gb usb since it won't have 16gb free space even if it is empty.

So to be clear you want to copy your whole windows installation from the hdd to the ssd and continue on the ssd as normal as if nothing was changed?
So you want to clone the hdd to the ssd?

also what windows are you using? cause 14gb seems very very little for your c drive.

Thank you Park@82

I created bootable usb disk. removed hdd, inserted ssd in its place, restored from usb, and I have been enjoying the computer ever since, chrome, edge, google docs, google sheets, pdf never loaded this faster. Wow!!! Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Zuner

I created bootable usb stick and to my surprise it only used 6 GB of the 14GB system drive. and the computer is running smooth with this restore, I just had to reinstall programs, which I didn't mind.

Glad you came right, although i don't know what you did. Sounds like you basically reloaded windows.
