Please help me decide which ISP to choose

My ISP is Mweb. I got a 100mb/s with 500gig cap. Line is through Frogfoot. Happy with everything except the small cap, which goes quickly. Wanting to try a well known ISP that has proper uncapped and no throttling. Don't want to make a mistake getting an ISP that does not have a stable line and a bad call centre. Do you have any suggestions or experience as to what ISP I should go for and how much I'm looking at paying? Thanks

Hi there,

We can definitely offer you some sweet Uncapped deals on Frogfoot. We offer Home, Premium and Business uncapped. On 100Mbps, you're looking at R999.000 for Home, R1299 for Premium and R1499 for Business. Business is the closest to being unthrottled, unshaped and uncapped, we only ever implement shaping on Business in the most extreme circumstances. Premium is also unthrottled, and only non-realtime services are shaped (during high demand) so your streaming, gaming, browsing, etc are never ever shaped. Home Uncapped can be throttled and/or shaped depending on network demand, but will be unshaped and unthrottled during off-peak times, even if you've used more than the threshold.

Currently Vox offer unrestricted, non-shaped and non-throttled uncapped for reasonable prices.

Word is that it's like that for a trial period, however. They will probably instate an FUP at some point.
 
Crystal Web would be your best bet.

AfriHost is too unpredictable with their constant/re-occurring network issues.

FrogFoot used to be brilliant but since they were taken over by VOX their services and support have deteriorated badly.

Had a meet with one of their account managers to sort out incorrect billing/credits/missing equipment - he promised to resolve on the day but 3 months later he has stopped responding to emails and is completely ignoring us.
The ex-owner Abraham is apparently too busy buying property with his profits and all the good guys have moved on sadly.

Shame, you guys still do Shaping, throttling etc on Uncapped packages.

I would much rather stick with an ISP that does true Unshaped Uncapped packages.

Afrihost has been pretty stable for me on their capped packages. Highly recommended if you're in the East.
 
Cool Ideas is the only ISP I will be willing to do business with for the future when I have to get fibre for friends/family etc.

They have Business uncapped you know.
 
People are doing 800gb on 50/50 for R799pm he should not be paying insane prices
 
I'm on Axxess capped and happy with performance. Tried Crystalweb but performance was bad compared to Axxess.
