please help to connect an openview decoder on dstv dish

Earlier in the year I bought an openview decoder and couldn't use it on our communal dstv dist at our flat as I was told they were not compatible. Recently I heard that you can now connect to a dstv decoder but I am failing to as I get the error satellite not found. Please help me on how I should go about it. Searched for the DIY installation guide on the net without success. The manual I have is outdated as I bought before they were compatible with dstv

For Elsat unit:
See proceedure to upgrade software and add TP settings via ABC guide
at http://openviewhd.co.za/products
Or take unit to Ellies service center to upgrade software.
Can be a bit tricky when trying to enter advanced setup screen via pressing exit, 2,4,6,5, info .

For SpaceTV unit:
Manually add new transpoder (TP) with settings in Section B, step 4 of the ABC guide. then scan for channels using new TP.
