please help with graphics card

Have your tried using the DVI port? This will determine if its the VGA port thats buggered, or the actual display card....

well i don't know if it will work, are u saying that i should go buy a VGA to DVI converter and try using the DVI port on my graphics card? my monitor only has a vga port

HD4870, cant go wrong,,, but there is no reason to purchase a new graphics card, its probably ur monitor cable, ur graphics card will have 2 ports so try plug ur monitor into either of those.

EDIT: just read the post above me, and yes go buy a VGA - DVI converter (Check ur graphics card's box, it should come with one) then plug it into the other port
