please help with outlook

so with the computer on and outlook open came load shedding.
Now my pst file is not fresh. I ran scanpst, it says it cannot scan the complete file.
Google suggest buying a pst repair tools.

Is it time to move to another email program, or is their a way saving ms outlook and some important emails.

There is 2 files. outlook.pst =626 mb and achive.pst =2.6 gig. the archive is date early in Jan.
