please help

so a couple of weeks ago, my laptop got a big virus and all of a sudden, everything was gone. so now i took out my hdd and plugged it into my normal pc at home and did a full anti virus scan, deleted all the virusses, but all my stuff seems to be gone. however, when i change my folder settings, to view all hidden folders etc, all my stuff appears. i can copy it etc but when i change the folder settings back, it disappears again. how do i solve this ?

select all folders, right click and choose properties.
Uncheck the hidden box and click OK, then apply to all folders and sub-folders.
