I have a JVC LT-32NQ3155B tv purchased a few months ago. Its is a terrible TV and runs some version of Android TV I believe. I threw the user manual away and yesterday I tried to add a soundbar. The tv does not have any option in settings to change the audio output to soundbar. I cant seem to find the audio settings at all. Anyone know where these settings are hidden and could assist. This os may be used on larger JVC tvs as well that are +- 2 years old. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have the same model JVC TV as well - What make & model of soundbar are you trying to connect to it and which connection cable option are you using? Is it HDMI, analog audio (3.5mm audio cable), or SPDIF (the TV only has coaxial SPDF Out and NO optical output).

I have an old Sony Blu-Ray Home Theatre System connected to the JVC TV as follows - Sony HTS - HDMI OUT to JVC - HDMI 1 INPUT.

I then went into the SONY HTS settings menu and made sure that the audio HDMI-CEC settings were set to 'Control for HDMI - ON', 'Audio Return Channel' (ARC) was set to AUTO, and the 'HDMI Audio Input Mode' was set to HDMI 1.

I then went to the JVC settings menu, selected SOUND DEVICE - and set it to ARC.

I went back to the main menu of the TV, went to SETTINGS, selected HDMI CEC and pressed the OK button to display the sub-menu, and turned ALL of the HDMI CEC options (CEC Enable, One Touch Play, Standby and Device Menu Control) to ON.

I then pressed the BACK button to go back to the JVC TV Settings menu & set the option BELOW the 'HDMI-CEC option', labelled 'HDMI Control Mode' to AUTO.

That allows the JVC TV audio to be passed through to the Sony HTS, and the volume control of the TV allows me to adjust the sound level WITHOUT having to use the Sony HTS remote - It should also deactivate the TV speakers so that the audio signal is only passed through to the connected Sony HTS (or in your case, the soundbar).

It also means that when I press the POWER button on the JVC TV remote to turn it off, it also powers off the Sony HTS - and does the reverse to turn on the TV - it also powers up the Sony HTS as well.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I am using a Sony HT-s40r sound bar. This was previously connected to a Samsung TV with no issues. My main issue is that there are no audio settings menu under settings. So I am unable to change the audio to use soundbar instead of TV speakers.

The easiest solution would then be to connect an analog 3.5mm stereo mini-jack plug cable between the Headphone socket of the TV and the LINE IN / AUX port of the sound-bar - HEY PRESTO! - no more sound from the TV speakers as the sound is now routed directly to the soundbar.

Note that audio will ONLY be 2.0 (stereo) and NOT 5.1 (surround sound) when using this option.

As far as I have ascertained - it only has ARC and does NOT have eARC capabilities.
eArc will fall back to Arc if necessary. As long as you've plugged both into the correct hdmi ports

My bad - I have deleted my previous posts as it appears that your JVC TV has a newer Android OS installed on it, when compared to my model, so the steps & procedures I outlined were for MY TV set and do not align with the settings menus on your newer model.

This is correct. The menus are different. It appears you need an additional app to access more advanced settings. The app does not come with the TV. There is a help app but does not include audio settings.
