I have finished making a website using net-objects, however I do not know the process to get an ISP to host my page, what info they require and how much they charge please help...

Hi Snakepit
In a nutshell:
You'll need a domain name and a hosting package in order to upload your site's files and make your website "live".
There are many hosts which offer free to very cheap hosting. While you're looking for a webhost which meets your needs, please have a look at Texo (link in my sig) and if it looks like we can offer you what you're looking for, please feel free to send me an email.

Hi snakepit,

Texo summed it up nicely - please also be aware that registering and configuring domain names (especially local ones) can be somewhat daunting to understand for starter web masters. It also may be a good idea to ask your chosen web host if they can provide you with a test account to make sure everything works before payment is made.

Apart from that feel free to contact us if you are interested in having your hosting by us. Good luck!

Once published create a blog on blogger.com,
Google references the content (not sure of links to your
website) that within 30 min or get someone to link it to
their site that the Googlebot crawls every few days.

If you are not referenced its like having an entry in the
phone directory and if by per chance browses your page
will they see the link. So advertise, advertise on Google.

Also make sure that the domain name is registered in YOUR NAME. Im sure many people here will tell you many stories (I have a few myself), of companies registering domain names for people, but they use their details for the admin. If, and when you ever want to try change your host, they many times refuse to change the details until you pay them transfer fees and so on. (I battled for almost 2 years to get IS to release a name)

Once you have decided on host it really is not a problem at all to register the domain name of your choice. I am sure many will help you here to set it up right. If you are planning on using a co.za address. You can do it yourself at http://co.za/ The cost is R50 per year.
