Lol so much for typing and wishfull thinking to add a screen shot of my "non existent speed" on my 3g!! I have to retype all over again.

I have been having serious problems with my 3g since last week monday. I logged the first call on Thursday, no one ever came back to me and another one yesterday.

I need help here. Web pages time out all the time. Connection so slow, it takes me 7 hours to download a file of 75mb. WTF??

Its progressively getting worse. I dont even think this message will be sent through, as it took my 50 minutes to open this page. (After lots of refreshing, reconnecting and PRAYING).

If someone from Vodacom reads here.... my ref is S2-EO72D-DEUID

Please please!!!!

Thanks to Brandon from Vodacom who came out yesterday afternoon.

He has spent quite a while testing, and it seems that there is a problem with the tower and the tower has to be "flushed"

Not sure what the terminology means, but his laptop and signal did exactly the same.

How long does this flushing take?? What should I expect??

Flush? Maybe bird poop that needs to be scraped off the transceivers? :-)

Seriously though...most likely to do do with something regarding the software running on the BTS.
 
@VD: Did you send a technician or a plumber?
 
Well by the sounds of it i think it is something similar to clearing your cache on your pc.

I just hope they do it soon.

The other thing is, I mean really, if this comes from the tower, can honestly be the only one that is complaining? Shouldnt everyone in the area be affected?
 
Well i was away for the weekend and came back this afternoon. My connection seems so much better. In fact its on a roll here. I dont want to talk to soon, but it looks like the "flushing" of the tower worked.

For future reference though, I would like Mr VD to explaine to me what was wrong here.... lol. I dont want to be a pain, but my connection is very important to me as I am running a business from home. What happened here, and like I said before, if it came from the tower, was I the only one complaining around here?

I have been experiencing endless problems with my Vodacom connection. I am in the Wilgeheuwel area, and has been logging calls since 31 October, without success.
The following ref numbers refer:
S2-EO72D-DEUID
S2-EQD4K-K6OCO
S2-EQG31-1AROE

I had one guy out here on the 2nd of November from Vodacom. He explained to me that the problem is with the tower. On Sunday 6th November I actually had service for about 4 hours. Since Thursday calls keep on dropping after about 40 seconds. Before I was actually to talk for about 2 minutes. Its getting worse and worse. My 3g is not working at all, and I am sending this from Mug and Bean as I have no connection at home.
I was shocked to find out yesterday that the networking people don’t work on weekends so no one can follow up on my reference??!!! (thank you for Zama at the call centre who called me back a total of 12 times in 30 minutes, and for trying to get another call logged).

What is happening here Vodacom? The worst part is that the intelligent technicians of Vodacom keep on calling me on my 3g, which is my modem sim number. I CANNOT answer the call so everytime I plug in my modem I have 4 missed calls from Vodacom. Please use some common sense and call me on my handset of which you all have the number.
I have 3 datalines with Vodacom and 2 top up accounts on my primary number. I Will NOT pay anything towards my Vodacom line if this is not fixed asap. The last call I logged was for all 6 lines on my account.
If anyone from CELL C is reading this, please let me know what the process will be to switch my account as soon as possible!

I am not paying a another cent on my account unless this problem is fixed

Mr Vodacom, although I honestly appreciate your input and for you trying to help, I'm afraid I need more than an email sent.

I cant do this any longer. I have been trying to log on to this site from 7am this morning. Hopefully this post will send.

I need this fixed. Brandon was here on the 2nd of November he said to me it will take max 3 days. Today is 14 November and in fact it is worse. Is it true that no guys in the networking department work over weekends? I'm sorry thats more than just crap service? Its like telling the client "Erm we promised you 3 days, but f u, you battle along, I'm going on weekend"

I cant even follow up on anything, because my handset cuts out after 15 seconds?????

Please give me some feedback today.
 
Ok, it seems hopeless. I have missed calls on my cell all the time now, but the call doesnt come through because of the signal (or lack there off). I am not ignoring Vodacom, its just the call doesnt come through.
 
I need to vent :(

I managed to actually take a call from Dylon from Vodacom, just to be cut off after 20 seconds, and he never called back. I have one missed call from Vodacom on my 3g again, but obviously never got the call.

I'm desperate. I cant make any calls, and not only that, they cant even contact me. I have given the one guy yesterday an alternative number, which is my husband's but he did not get any calls today.

What is the next step. I want to explain what the problem is, I want feedback but I feel isolated, as I cant contact aanyone, neither can they contact me.

I need someone here at my house :(

Oh and btw, I'm sending vodacom my Mug and Bean bill too!
 
:) I really feel for you and hope you get this sorted.

This is probably my first rant of a complete series of rants, but then on the other hand it won't change anything.

Been a VodaCom client for about 11 years now, and will probably switch to someone else in 1 month time.

Today I got 2 calls, 1 dropped immediately and I phoned the client back, both clients told me they tried about 4 or 5 times to get through on various times throughout the morning. From Voda I did not get ONE of the messages that were left, NO notification of a missed call, Nothing.

In other words, I did not miss one single payment in 11 years, but you are directly responsible for thousands of rands lost due to
clients trying to get hold of me, then can't get hold of me, then looking/finding someone else.

Pathetic!
 
And the BIS of vodacom is also horrendous, it only use to give problems at night, but now its even in the day. Tried contacting Vodacom, but no reply from them.

Sorry for the thread hijack. :)

Really hope vodacom can get their stuff sorted out as well as help you speedily to resolve this matter
 
*touch wood* my connection is working this morning!

Thanks guys, lol I know its sad to say, but to know I'm not the only one struggling here makes it a tiny bit better.

I just renewed all my lines in August this year for another 2. Urghh :( I can live with a problem if they tell me, hey this is what is wrong, and it will take 3 weeks to fix. But to get no feedback at all is just plain crappy service.
