Please recommend a tablet for up to R3,500. It will be used for browsing, reading, and viewing Google docs and spreadsheets. Preferably available locally, but an import would also be ok.

This one is a little bit more, but it is quite a nifty device. I have one.

Wouldn't Xiaomi or Huawei offer better bang for buck, namely the CPU?

Probably, but I've never owned any of them so I can't comment. I would have recommended Apple, but that is outside the price range. Before going Apple, I was a Samsung fanboy, so I'll always go for them first before other Android manufacturers. Huawei I'll never do, purely because of no GMS.

Best advice is to not stuff around and get an iPad on contract. An iPad Pro if you can manage it. My 11-inch iPad Pro is out of its contract (cost me like R500/month with 10GB of mobile data from Telkom), and it’s literally all I need for YouTube and Netflix in bed lol. Way more in fact.

Anything else will be disappointing for you and you’ll upgrade before you need to. That nice metal body is a tank. And the screen and speakers … just do it.

If you had more cash to play around with, I'd have recommended the entry-level iPad. You'd have no issues with performance in a few years time.

I also have the normal A7, 10.4". Good tablet, only small issue for me is the 32GB is already very full out of box. I added a 128GB, but you can't extent the internal storage and can only move over some apps. So just keep that in mind.
It works for me, because I don't have much on there.

I am seriously considering one of these . Anyone out one of these that they can given feedback on.

I got an A7 from a member here a few weeks back for R2k, I think he may be selling another one..(new and in the box)I just use mine for music and a bit of surfing and reading..For what I paid its great...Got a cheap cover for R250 and a screen cover for R120 and its sorted..

Battery life is good and what I do like are the dual speakers..its not suitable for pumping music but its certainly a big difference over a single speaker.

I would agree with Kleinboontjie above though...if you want a lot of apps there isnt much onboard space and It seems you cant place your apps on the SD card...

But I use hardly anything so its no issue to me. Curently I am using just over 17GB out of 32GB...
