I need a vacuum cleaner guys. What do you recommend? And please don't recommend Miele. :) Something budget, but dependable.

What do you guys own? Experiences? I need to keep my apartment clean. Right now it's a rats breakfast. I need assistance.

Depends what your budget is. Can never go wrong with a Hoover, but then again you can get a Karcher for about the same price.
Also most people never use the wet function of a wet and dry vacuum.

Avoid Bennett Reed, they break all the time lol.

I've heard Dyson's are fantastic. Currently have a Hoover that the domestic has destroyed over and over again.

Karcher WD2 plus when on sale. R1000. Small but sucks and blows damn well. Has 2 types of filters for wet and dry. Seem to be going for R1200 at the moment.
I bought the WD4 a while back, having a wet/dry vacuum is really useful. Roof leaked in December and drenched the bedroom including a mattress, was able to suck so much water out of the mattress and it's still perfectly fine today.

It's nice having a machine too that doesn't blow so much kak back out as it has a filter and filter bags.

The cheapie hoover gave us almost 10 years. Replaced it with a mielie. Wife is happy.

I second this option. I have the Henry 160 and it works fantastically well.

Have a karcher wd3. Use the blow function quote a bit. The wet suction confuses me, the bag gets wet and existing dust turns to muck? Also have a Kirby, bulletproof machine, just glad I didn't have to buy it.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions with the exception of Miele, ain't nobody got time to spend R5k+ on a vacuum. Or I'm just super cheap and can't afford ****. :(
