I cleared my temp. internet files then restested.
Now I am getting over 400KB/s on both Telkom and Axxess
This is now really flying.
 
I get ± 410kbps on IS newshost and on a torrent with lots of seeders, maybe ± 410kbps as well... so generally, 400±
 
Methos - 502kbps? Is that constant or a spike value? A constant 502k shouldn't be possible unless there's compression involved.
 
i dont see anything wrong with a speed of 502KB/s. 4096 / 8 gives 512KB/s. His got good line thats all.
 
In theory thats the maximum value, but you've got network/protocol headers, errors etc which should reduce the throughput.
He must have a great line - I want one of those! :)
 
Very good if he is living next to the exchange. I've 4096 but my line is 4Km to the exchange so, between 2 and 2.5 Mb/sec is max.
 
I know a guy that reports HTTP download speeds of 400 +/- KB/s and torrent speeds averaging about 200+/- speeds with ample seeds.

He has a 4MB line and is currently using a shaped, capped SAIX account!

Time for me to upgrade :)

And that's while I have a download running at 320 KB/s :p

my line has never go down less then 4096 my exchange its excellent got something like 42000 ports opened on it
 
downloading from international torrents i get round about 250-300 kbps
so its lekker in the area where i stay im the only one u got adsl

Thats with 5 stuff downloading at the same time

gonna put a second dsl line in my room so ill be downloading even better lol

Took me 2 hours 2 get my dsl @ 1 hour 2 activate it :)

know people that work for telkom
 
there are tweaks that make my downloading smoother like hacking the tcpip.dll on my machine to max connections helps with u torrent & download managers like orbit downloader (nice downloader-can download from utube-rapidshare-megaupload)
