Plex Help needed - Locks up my PC

I am running Plex and really happy with it but at some point it started causing problems. While playing anything from 1080p to SD or even normal MP3's it would play for a short while and then the screen would go completely blank and a few seconds later the optical audio feed cuts out to the amp. Then the onyl option is to hold in the power button and manually turn off and back on the pc.

The pc has the following specs.

Intel Core i7 2600
8Gb Ram
Passively cooled ATI Radeon 7750
1Tb System drive
2 x 2Tb Media Drives

I am running the plex server and client apps on this pc as well as PS3 Media Server and Air Video Server.

I really want to get this working as I love how plex works but it is simply unusable right now.

Oh and playing anything else works perfectly. For example playing any of the videos through VLC never has any problems or audio through itunes etc.

Would appreciate any help.
 
Dude u got quite a insane setup. That should give zero hassles. I recently had buffer issues, all sorted now. Not sure what your solution would be.

Are u streaming wired or wireless

My first guess would be a clash with this sw. Try removing/disabling to see if Plex stabilizes.

I'm not streaming over the network in this case. The client and server are both on the same PC. I do sometimes stream to iphone/ipad.

The only network activity in this case is the iphone/ipad that I use to remote control plex.

Thanks for this tip. I don't want to get happy too soon but seems removing Air Video Server might have fixed it. Will see how it goes but I think it is now sorted. :)
