Hey guys. So as a pretty basic user of Plex (ripped our DVD collection and add the odd movie/series from time to time from the seas) I'm a little perplexed by all this radarr, sonarr, ombi etc stuff. Could someone explain in simple terms what they do?
Sonarr - Manage and download your series
Radarr - Manage and download your movies
Ombi - People can request that you download movies and series for your Plex server

Do you guys do everything via VPN or the arr stuff or you not bothered by it.

Must try docker out

You don't really need to use a VPN in SA but if you don't want to host anything you can use Real Debrid instead.

That is a rclone fork that uses the Real Debrid API which you can mount then. It sorts content and automatically renew links for you. It has 2 local CDN options. Cloudflare or G-core.

Just got home, I am trying again.

Got it working... add in your IP, the port, API key, and then click Load Qualities.
Do not click submit until you've selected the qualities, root folder, and language.

In Sonarr I set the Certificate Validation to "Disabled for Local Addresses"

Did you get it working for Radarr?

Sonarr all working. But when I make requests for movies, nothing happens. Even though, it shows successful connection to Radarr.

I have not tried the requests yet. I got it working and then I decided to watch some series before bed

Tried using this and now all torrents on my real debrid account are gone. What the :/

Weird. Did you delete it because if you do mount the mount is read only and the fork doesn't allow removing files via rclone.

Didn't delete anything on my own.

Mounted it the same way I did with my Google drive which was without the read-only thing so that must have been where I went wrong. Honestly didn't think something like that could happen :/

Very weird. I have mine mounted for some time now and no issues.

If you mount an directory, over an already mounted directory, you cannot see the content of the original directory - you see only an empty directory.

If you unmount your rclone mount, can you see the files as expected again?

Hope, I am making some sort of sense.

The torrents themselves are gone from my RD account.

The new remote drive was mounted to a new directory, same way I did with my google drive mount. I didn't mount over an already mounted directory.

Thing is, all the folders showed up then all of a sudden disappeared after a couple of minutes.
I'll just have to start over again with my RD account :/

Wow sorry

So what I do I run 2 x mounts for Real Debrid.

For HD I just add this to the mount flag --exclude '**2160**' for 4k I use this --include '**2160**'

I then have Sonarr and Radarr set up with indexers and the download client is rdtclient https://github.com/rogerfar/rdt-client which is set on

So Sonarr/Radarr search for content. Sends it to rdtclient which with the "don't download any files to host" settings only adds them to Real Debrid. If they are cached, it's available immediately if not RD starts the download, and they will be available once cached.

Just trigger the scans in Plex or Jellyfin.

Ooof!!

Ah, well, if that is the case, it is not nice, but at least it can be done.

I used to give my brother access to my Plex who lives in another province. But, for some reason, the past year I get some funny error about a "double NAS" which I cannot seem to get fixed and no one can help me with it. I also cannot access the server from outside my house. So, I am blocked by Plex to share externally.

But, inside my house, we have 6 people accessing the server from computers, laptops, TVs and mobile phones.

I'm trying to figure out why I would want more than one version of anything. Download in the highest quality you might want and let plex do the rest. The whole idea of downloading multiple versions of the same thing seems redundant. Plex should supply whatever the screen you're viewing on is capable of.

This is what I do. I download the highest quality, upload it to my Mega account and then later stream it through Plex. I have my Mega account mounted as a drive with a program called RaiDrive and it works like a charm. The nice thing about my Mega account is that I can still watch any movie or series from any device directly from my account. Plex is blocking me due to something about double nas when I am not on my network.

Double NAT, you have to ask your ISP to give you a public facing IP.
