Plex Thread

I’m sure he did that but we will try again!

The indirect playback message also kind of makes me think I can’t actually reach his server and plex is just using relay at a low quality?
Weird thing is thats what the "fully accessible outside your network" is supposed to test

Which ISP is it, possibly as @StefanB7 mentioned it could be CGNAT

Just wanted to update that my issue is resolved, my friend getting a public IP now let’s me use direct playback. Thanks for the help everyone

Rockwell Automation buying Plex for revenue.. wtf? i don't pay.. is this coming? Also curious if the lifetime thing will be respected then

Is Plex Inc owed by Plex Systems? I'm not so sure. I think they're just similarly named.

cool... oh i see the link someone posted is gone.

In other plex news.. running my plex in a container and noticed the containerized ones freeze and then become unresponsive till i restart it. anyone run them in containers? Minor annoyance right now as I still have my original deployments but want to sort asap as I am dropping the orig app deployments.

Have always run it in containers, make sure you not swapping ram to disk as containers don't like that too much

I have an issue someone might be able to assist with.

My library is in the cloud, Gsuite, but mapped to my pc via a Rclone mount. So when I set up my Plex libraries I point them towards the mapped drive and they sync, populate and behave in exactly the same way you would expect them to (if it were scanning a regular drive) with one exception!! It takes days to recreate a library from scratch!! 3-4 days (1000/100 account).

Library isn't small but not massive either, but big enough for me not to feel comfortable divulging any further details here.

But the issue is not really the length of time it takes to build from scratch, that can be explained by the mapped network drive. If I click on the drive and navigate through the directory everything happens at a snails pace. Just the nature of the work around but rebuilding the library from scratch? I haven't done anything consciously to warrant this behaviour yet on a couple of occasions that's exactly what it has done.

I've opened up Plex to watch a series and BAM, the library is practically empty!! I log onto the Plex Media server and it's scanning, but no conventional scan or update, a full system rebuild type scan starting from scratch!!

Anyone able to explain this behaviour?

I can understand if I renamed a root folder or messed with the mapping of the primary drive but what else would cause this behaviour?

You really have to know what you're doing with Rclone mounts on Google Drive otherwise you'll run into quota issues on your Drive account if you make too many requests.

I'm sure there are a few guides online or you can ask around on the Plex subreddit or the forum about it.

I would suggest mounting the same drive at least 2 x with a different account to split the load of scanning a bit.

I installed plex on the home server yesterday and all is working beautifully. Well, except that now I can't access home assistant or adguard anymore. Any ideas how to fix this?

EDIT: Reboot fixed it all
