Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Also having connection issues here, have to reload pages regularly. Been happening a lot for the past 48 hours. Any reason? Tracert looks fine but there's certainly connection dropping happening.

Did notice a new route though on tracert called above.net havent spotted them before.

No outages or issues on the network currently.

You also not providing much information so difficult to respond with anything concrete. Routing & peering changes from time to time, but I would suggest logging call with support@plugg so that they can have a look or PM me the relevant details and Ill have a look.

Having endless youtube problems where i cant watch videos on better quality than 240p. I even have problem loading videos sometimes. Auto detect drops it to 120p if there is an option on the video. Live streaming is fine though.

This is a huge problem for me since i use youtube a lot.

Please can you try sort this out because its not the first time i have complained about this.

PM Janitor with your deets and ask what your star rating is. Youtube is choosing 360p auto for me around this time. After 5pm, line speed.

I never get line speed on youtube. Loads a second then flat lines for about 30sec then loads a bit more. Repeats this over and over and never really loads the video properly.

After 5 auto defaults to 480 but if I choose 720 it goes no prob. Before 5 240-360p
 
How is it with an alternate ISP on diff backbone?

Seems a lot better now. With other ISPs its smooth(except mweb which is terribad for some reason).

Will keep testing later though. Not bothering with it right now because i got steam games to install :P

Yea, not really a gamer but had a look at steam and some good deals going on there. Might just take the plunge. Mweb is a swearword :)

Please can we have an ETA on the updated clientzone panel, esp, having the facility to check our own star rating like WA provides? Last communication was in Feb AFAIR.

I don't know if you can tell, but I am getting a little pee'd off that it's taking so long, and am stirring the pot now. Everything else is top-notch and it's only this that's letting the side down!

One month on - time for an update - and good news.
Within the last couple of days, my connection has miraculously returned to what I used to consider normal.
Stable pings, minimal packet loss, even during the evening rush hour.
I am assuming that Telkom has moved my line to a different DSLAM, or done something else to mitigate the congestion.
If so, thanks Telkom! A pity that you can't come out and admit what the problem was, or what you had to do to fix it - but I guess if you did that, you'd have everyone currently suffering from exchange congestion shouting for you to fix their service too. Can't have that, now can we?
Anyway, I'm enjoying the service I pay Telkom so much for, and holding thumbs that it doesn't fall over again soon.

Yup almost every month i make this comment, their website is their downfall.
 
Or even better yet, a network load/status monitor which will indicate how the star rating will be affected?

I fully agree with the sentiment re the current client-zone for Plugg users. It lack severe functionality; it needs a total overhaul. Things are however in motion but it takes time to make sure you have a customer/client-zone that links into the various back-end systems, billing and so forth. It needs to be done right, first time.

As soon as I have more information to give, I will.

Any thoughts on the network load monitor suggestion to make the star rating more meaningful? Like a real time graph? All the others ISP's just give a green light to say there are no issues, but nothing about load? That would really be awesome!!

Cool , i see my star rating now. Just a quick noob question, 5 stars is essentially the best whilst 1 star is the worst. Am i correct in saying this?
