Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I think Plugg need to reassess the prices they charge for a 2mbps line, im looking to upgrade but its basically the same price as what isps would charge for a 4mbps.

Plugg R339
Mweb R369 for premium uncapped.
OpenWeb R329 for silver uncapped.

Afrihost/Axxess/Webafrica are cheap for a reason.
I've tried them all, Plugg comes out tops for my needs. From my experience, you get what you pay for and Afrihost and Axxess were the worst of the cheapies. I tried them twice, awful before and after their network upgrade.

Well said, and all truth.

The earlier in life one learns the better. You get what you pay for.

Anyone know if our Plugg IP's are static? been on the same one for a while now.

No they are not, however, sometimes you are lucky enough to be allocated from the same pool cache if you reconnect.

The only way of offering static ips would be via a tunnel since Telkom is still unable to provide this functionality to ISPs.

Hi.

Have responded to your PM.

Do not see a problem on the network or with your account; Might have been some glitch causing packets ending up in a bitbucket at the time. If you still having these issues, please get hold of [email protected] so that they can troubleshoot with you.

So far I have had these 2 issues:
1. Lightning dammage - router and cable dammage on the way to the exchange
2. Not enough HD space

Yip, Plugg is great. The mind boggles as to why they are never listed in table comparisons and why people always recommend some other beeping ISP. Maybe it's a good thing they do as we don't want 24/7 mweb hogs over here, even though it's also IS, hopefully they are in a different pool?

11 months so far and haven't phoned/emailed support once!

One observation: I was on 4 stars on friday and had a load to download and decided to download non-stop over the weekend (about 80gigs I managed on 4mb). Saturday morning it had dropped to 3, sunday morning down to 2. From monday 6am I resumed my usual activity that had me on 4 stars but as of today, I am still on 2. So it takes 2 days to drop 2 stars but 3 days and counting to pick up stars. I'm hoping by tomorrow I will see a change. Not that 2 stars has affected me in any way so not complaining :)
