Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Your priority will drop quicker if the system detects dual connectivity. It is however not just about your usage but also network capacity. Yesterday we saw higher demand due to the memorial.

Oh!

No wonder I'm always on 3. So then I should switch off the router at work when I leave for the day and at the weekend.

That's a bit inconvenient, but at least I know now.

this is EXACTLY what Im getting at...

Vote with your feet, I moved from PLugg end of last month, I could not make any sense of the shaping, and not being able to stream was the last straw. I'm paying a bit more but it was necessary for more premium experience.

Obscure rules.

Janitor, that's a bit of a bum rule though.

Since each connection utilizes the same pool, it feels unnecessarily punitive.
Are these rules published anywhere other than here ?
How is one supposed to know to follow them if they are not made very
obvious on the Plugg site?

Surely the cause is known when the star is lost or gained, and could
easily be shown on the user page.

Everybody would win, because users can learn to behave as Plugg requires,
but that is only possible if they know why and when they were penalised.

I agree and would also like a thorough explanation. I've been loyally following the 11pm to 6am only download rule (usually get around 5GB on my 4m account within those hours). During the day, it is only streaming of videos and surfing, no downloading. However, I always see my star rating in the 2 or 3 range. Is there perhaps certain criteria implemented for day time use (such as only 1GB allowed etc.) or if Saturday and Sunday mornings count as no downloading allowed?

In general, I have been very satisfied with the speeds. Okay day use speeds and good download speeds during off peak. What I dislike is when the 2 star affects my day time use (many browser failed loading screens and severe delays). This is the worst especially trying to play online games.

At a time I tried to find an explanation and logic . No success . Now I am with anther ISP.

i'm sorry but that's BS. its the damn weekend. if business doesn't require the bandwidth why do they punish you if you utilizing it?

I agree - that was the explanation given a couple of pages back - if you don't want to suffer (too much) on your star rating (i.e. not dip below 3), schedule your downloads for between 23h00 and 06h00, Mon to Sunday.

I had to download the Windows 8.1 iso during the course of this morning - hope my 3 star does not get hammered down to 2 because of that

Who are you with now and do they allow concurrent connections?
Afrihost business . 24/7 full speed . At the moment very happy . This is my third time with Afrihost so I am aware of their limitations as well . No concurrent connections , but I don't need this service .

Hi Guys

My international is super slow so I'm off to bed. Will check up when I wake up and hope you early risers have got things fixed.

I bundled my line with AH and now I'm actually paying less for business uncapped than I was for the shaped product.
