Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Also considering making the move. Price adjustments just haven't arrived which I think is a bit weak.

I'm on 4mb uncapped and pull average 120gb a month
 
Performance is ridiculously bad compared to November. Waiting for Telkom to upgrade my line then moving on.
 
got a reply back 30 gig in 6 days is not on and bang shaped.

I seem to average on 120GB pm, 1MB line. On MWEB it was about 180GBpm before their throttling nonsense. PLUGG is still by FAR superior to MWEB though.

I just got back from holidays in CT, so can't comment on performance between the xmas and new year break.

I've noticed the new website as well, also asking me to RICA.

Seeing I have been a customer for "1 years 2 months 2 days" and this is the first I'm hearing of this, I'm also going to ignore it.

I'm also always on the lookout for a "better" ISP, and I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I really don't think there is anything out there that matches IS for after hours performance (5pm-8am), and if you follow the rules (that seem to keep shifting - but ALL ISP's do that), day time ain't so bad from the times I've used it (I can say that I have noticed the network has deteriorated in the last few months). IE: Plugg home uncapped suits my needs, and will be sticking around, and will just have to suck it up that because we are buying from a corporate company, that we are last with price adjustments.

Next month when all the telkom upgrades are finished, I will phone 10210 and downgrade my fake 10mb line to a 4mb, then ask for 25% discount (12 month contract) as my line is with telkom and that's the way it's gonna stay.

I ave 300GB on a 4mb line.
 
Totally agree with you here. No account matches IS in any way afterhours..... Best for downloading and gaming all in 1 BUT I think plugg is more expensive than other IS resellers....

4Mbps account just resold by IC... R260 and its basically the exact same account as plugg. Allows 2 connections just like plugg and usage stats work on http://users.isdsl.net/home.php

LOL - they're even using the same 'skin' for the website that Plugg has just switched to.

@Janitor, you back from your break yet? Is there any reason at all why we shouldn't all be porting over to IC's offering @R166 less for the same thing?

You know even the support is from IS. You send it to a @connection.co.za email but the reply comes from IS support.... I see no reason whatsoever why plugg is R166 more. I just don't hey.
BTW connection.co.za is the cheapest IS based account reseller I saw so far. I am not including openweb cause they claim they don't sell IS account they sell IS bandwidth.....

Maybe reseller IS accounts are not equal to Plugg?

It's the "low contention ratios" stated that is keeping me here, but if they are the same, then it's a no-brainer going with the cheapest option.

No 30 day cancellation notice policy is also a factor for me.

EDIT:

I don't understand Plugg's business plan by pricing themselves more than the resellers if there is no difference.

@ Janitor, could you please clarify whether Plugg accounts are the same or different from reseller accounts, other than concurrent connections, I'm talking star rating here?

guys Im pretty sure that these connection accounts do NOT allow 2 concurrent connections.

i called them when this special was first released, spoke to the support agent on the phone, and I was told that only 1 connection was allowed on the 4mb uncapped. Maybe its different for the 1mb and 2mb accounts.
 
Yea.. My plugg account feel sluggish... speeds are crappy after 5pm (I usually start my downloads after 5pm, speeds were fine). But I see my speed goes up and down a lot these days when I download.

It has been slow since coming back from holidays (29th December).

if you downloading from 5pm you probably on 1 star, hence your speeds.

download from 11pm till 06am

I was on 2-3 star usually (which is fine). But after December, my account feels slower (did they change the throttling/thresholds?) My downloads used to be fine after 5pm.. now not so fine.
