Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I used my friends 4mb uncapped Plugg account and got my normal 100kb/s and he used my 1mb uncapped Plugg account and got 5.5mb/s. I think I will change to a capped account after this month so I can get my full speed constantly and not just at night. I was getting 200 ping to South Africa CS GO servers this afternoon.

Maybe initially, yes, it does peak to line speed, but then it does level out in my experience in using accounts that are slower than line speed.

What was the outcome with your slow speed situation?

Step 1: try another ISP

EDIT: I phrased that wrong.

What happens when you try another ISP?

Afrihost capped at 700 KBps (in Cape Town nogal). So a Plugg issue.

Only done 75 GB this month and generally that is scheduled between midnight and 6 AM.

Can u still post the results to aid in troubleshooting? More info the better.

Not in the habit of running unknown exe's ... Safe computing and all that.

Fact is Plugg is slow, Afrihost isn't. Same line and setup.

I've been a Plugg fan for some time but lately not impressed.

my account also on 3stars and its slow

its just the test account

plugs limit is just to low for my daily usage

sadly have to move on..to a diff one

its limited to 4mbps on my 6mbps

Slow? When is this, after 5pm or before?

As everybody is different, Plugg was the best of the rest for me (not really home during the day) when I was with them, so can't comment on performance now, maybe there is an IS issue at the moment, but if there were, you would normally see it in the OW thread.

Well, you have done 46gigs so far with your test account now on 3 stars for the last two days. The busier the network the more shaping takes place. It's from minute to minute.

What's up with Plugg lately? We schedule our downloads and only do a few 100 GB a month. Currently on 3 stars and only getting 100 KBps on a 8 Mbps line and account.

:(

It's been busier than normal (on the network), especially this week so users might find the shaping a bit more than in other weeks.

With the newly implemented IPC in KZN a couple of weeks ago, others IPCs are without KZN users, but that free space is already filled up with users downloading more and more.

After a year, I couldn't see any difference between 3 and 5 stars with regards to daytime shaping, which wasn't bad at all, just p2p and nntp shaped quite heavily, but not as bad as AH, but still, when you accept the fact that daytime is for normal use (browsing, skype etc) and not DL'ing, you'll be much happier, but as they say, different strokes for different folks.
