Plugg Uncapped ADSL Feedback

It's been busier than normal (on the network), especially this week so users might find the shaping a bit more than in other weeks.

With the newly implemented IPC in KZN a couple of weeks ago, others IPCs are without KZN users, but that free space is already filled up with users downloading more and more.

I never saw shaping after 5pm EVER. Is this not the case anymore?

I'm getting 1/8 I normally get.

The fact that we have a Janitor, and his broom sweeps properly :D

I miss Plugg, just because they never let me down.

If they include weekends into the 23:00-6:00 window where the star rating is zero rated, then I will come back, esp now that we have a local IPC for super low pings :)

When I was with them for about 15 months, I always got full speed after 5pm, without fail, no matter what star I was on. I find it hard to believe that things would be so different now, unless something is broken on IS which I don't think is the case otherwise there would be activity on other threads like OW (:sick:), I use them and other IS reseller based threads like connection and WA as a yard stick and things appear quiet on the frontline.

Is it just Plugg? How are your other accounts behaving?

Do you guys have a link to all ADSL issues on the Telkom network. I have had dial-up speed at home for more than a week. I reported it faulty and I phoned last night, only to be told that they are working on the problem in my area?

It is so frustrating.

It is so frustrating.

SAIX provides a noticeboard on outages, planned maintenance etc on their network. If you let me know which area you are in, I can go through and see if anything pops up.
 
Can the public see this as well?

Think its only open to clients of SAIX - have a look at http://www.saix.net/cgi-bin/saix_notices.pl?pass=1

There is a company with a twitter feed with outages of all ISPs, but for the life of me, I can not recall their name.

BTW, I do not need your number just the suburb/exchange you connect to. Send me your username and I'll have a look where you connect.

Apologies for only responding now, but I had a bit of an incident between some wild geese invading the local ducks' turf at the pond that had to be resolved. The honking noises from the geese are almost as bad as those of the hadida's.

Anyway,

Seems that the star rating is much more sensitive now.

That is quite possible from time to time, since it's a calculation between capacity on the network and demand (usage), measured from minute to minute.
