Help me understand the benefit of 2 concurrent connections again?
Expect Plugg to go the route of another cheaper ISP now that the world has heard the news of their unsaturated network

Not sure I follow the logic. From what I know, they are another IS ISP with smaller subscriber base and lower contention ratios to the rest, what else did I miss?
Plugg is not a reseller ISP with IS. Plugg is part of I.S.
You are in essence buying directly from I.S. And in that regard, there is more than enough capacity.

Correct, Plugg is the consumer division of IS, thus not just a regular reseller. I can promise you, if Plugg looks bad, it will reflect bad on IS. Do you truly think IS will let that happen? It is like Telkom DoBroadband is to Telkom.

Its amazing how things change. First we had just Peak and off peak. Now we have Peak, After hours and off peak...
Just another way to limit your download capability.
As for plugg being a consumer division of IS, they ARE still bound to IS rules. So you will get more crappy speeds when their subscriber base grows. If IS makes special arrangements for Plugg, I dont think the other contracted ISP's will be very happy with IS considering they are paying IS considerable amounts of money

I wonder if this is partly the reason Afrihost decided to give their uncapped business to MTN? Seems supporting Plugg is like supporting Telkom - unfair advantage anyone? As for Plugg being consistently better than MWEB...

In true IS fashion - higher bandwidth but higher ping too.
As tempted as I am to try them, I have a feeling things are going to get ugly with their ISP clients if IS are effectively selling wholesale to the public. Perhaps it's time for a MyBB article...

I can share the account and cost. I'm not a huge downloader (under 100 GB a month) so this suits me.

So if I understand correctly, Plugg even allow you to have two people logged in on different ADSL lines with the same account? That's huge. Why don't we see a 'who wants to share Uncapped ADSL costs with me' thread in here?
Another biggie is I can have two concurrent sessions on the same 10Mbps ADSL line and use it to the max without buying a 10Mbps uncapped account... Is anyone doing this?

Correct. Only catch is you share the total account speed so if you are both downloading at the same time each will get half. But if only one is then you get full speed. Which is fine by me.
One person has to pay, so you'll need to share with someone you trust.
For me I have not had any issues with MWEB so very reluctant to try something else. The cost difference for the 1MB speed, which I have, is minimal so the only appeal would be the two concurrent connections as it could be shared with my Mom but I sense some sort of catch there.... she would do very little downloading but on my MWEB account I regularly do over 60GB per month, although that has slowed down recently.
I also tried IS in the past and am not a fan of their news server. In fact it was appalling. I know the argument will be to use a paid service but then this would negate the saving anyway. The MWEB news server is good.

I am more than willing to admit it if I am, but are you willing to put your money where your mouth is?Dont u just love it when people cant admitt that they might be wrong!
Let me just add, I agree with your statement in most situations when it is a new isp, or even a small player who is not new, but IS is not a small player, nor are they new to the uncapped game.
If you are right, and I am wrong, place a bet. In my opinion, when it comes to money, people are much more careful what they say and go with, unless you like to gamble.
