Hi,

What is this and do you guys have it? I think it hasn't something to do with streaming, but I have an issue with it because randomly it'll start using 100% of my CPU power ... all the time. Not even a dip to 95% .. it's 100% all the way :/

When this happens, my media streamer stops working.

Is there a replacement file somewhere? Is it specific to my media software perhaps?
 
Thanks. Found the process - installed with my Pinnavle Showcenter. But how do I need if I need it? Also, if I don't how to I stop the process completly ... never to start on start up again?

You can disable it by using a great little program called WinPatrol, or just disable it by running msconfig (Start -> Run -> msconfig) and disabling it from there. :)
 
PMSHost.exe freaks out with Orb Service

The PMSHost.exe is the Pinnacle Media Server service that a ShowCenter connects to. I'm not sure if it is included in other products by Pinnacle as well, but that's beside the point. The problem when this process jumps to 100% CPU deals with some sort of "magic packet" on the network dealing with other uPnP Media services. If you have any ORB service on your network (behind your router), you will definitely have problems. Btw, Winamp Remote uses ORB as it's uPnP Media service. If there is someone on your network using Winamp Remote, your PMSHost.exe will jump to 100% CPU. I'm not sure about other services uPnP services, but I defnitely had a problem with Orb.
 
I've the same problem, ORB + Show Center = not working. PMSHost runs on 100% and it's impossible, to start the Media Manager (Database could not ne init).

I'm looking for a Software which provides my Music and Videos to the Internet, exactly the same, what ORB is doing, but @ home, I need the Show Center.

Anyone here with an Idea or experience??

Hello again!

The solution is quite simple!

Remove following DLL ->
C:\Programme\Pinnacle\Shared Files\Programs\StrmServer\Plugins -> PMSUPnPServerMirror.dll

The DLL is responsible for the Rhapsody Music Service. Delete or rename it, restart the system, done :)
