Just a follow up on this thread, I was about to spend about R7k on a new rig and found that thread and gave it some thought.
With the same budget, I can get a better pc from PointIT. I can add a 60GB SSD, and a better GPU. Anybody knows of this company? They are based in Cape Town and I'm based in PTA, so it might be a problem when returning stuff for warranty purposes, though I hope it does not come to that.
I'm hoping they have the revised/fixed B3 mobo.

i7 2600 non-k
Asus P8P67-M (hope for Rev B3)
CM 690 II - advanced - no window
Corsair GX600
Club3D 5670 :p:cry:
Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus
OCZ 60GB Vertex 2 SSD
Corsair 2 X4GB DDR3-1333

they wont have b3 :)

april we will have b3 etc
RebelTech has b3 in stock. Link
On their home page:
Important Notice:

If you purchased a:
P8P67
P8P67-M
P8P67-LE
from Rebel Tech. Please return the MB to Rebel Tech as the replacement MB (Revision B3) are available. This only applies to the MB listed above (for now) and if you purchased it from Rebel Tech.

Has anyone bought from and received their purchase from PointIT with the 30% discount?

You should drop the ssd and put the extra money into a better vga card and run a standard drive if this is for gaming.

if it is for gaming the i5 2500k would be more than adequate, and so would 4GB of RAM, try keep the SSD in there...
An i5 with SSD will feel alot better than the i7 without the SSD... Plus you don't need more than 4GB at the moment unless you run alot of VM's or work with large photoshop files etc..
Then the cash you save, buy a better GPU :) You gunna want at least a 6850 :p

This pc will be 90% for development. I might even add another 8GB RAM. LOL
@killadoob, I'm surprised you said I should drop the SSD, since you worship SSD, as PP worships a plasma.

I will eventually get a better GPU at the end. I haven't gamed in a long time. In fact I don't think I am a gamer at all.

I worship value for money. :)

And the best for watching SD TV and sport.

Oh, I guess you are right...

I do worship them but if i had to choose between a low end or high vga card over a ssd and i played games i would go for the vga card. Once you are in the game the ssd makes zero difference. A gaming rig would benefit the most from a power gpu and not ssd.

Since you are not a gamer then don't worry, i never knew in your post what the use of the pc was but get the ssd if you are not a gamer.

I was expecting my pc to be delivered today. Nothing. Nada.
No courier tracking number, no email confirmation. I have been pushing and pushing to get things done but I think I've been too patient. This has been the most frustrating wait for me.

The thing that irks me the most is that I have to send 5 emails each time to get some sort of response. There are few people that have been trying to order and never went through. So I'm considered "lucky" to have at least gone through.

I'm hoping to get the pc tomorrow latest.
Ordered (paid 50% deposit) on the 16 March and had to wait for confirmation (I had to make countless calla and and emails) before I could pay the rest yesterday.

Has anybody bought anything from them and received the stuff? I'm suspecting the company does not have manpower to deliver on the requests.
This is really leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

/rant over
