Poisonous comet heading for Earth

that will be really cool if we make it past 2012 dec 21st, when the sun reaches the centre of the galaxy - first time in 26 000 years, scientists say there will be 3 eclipses, and that the magnetic field of the earth will switch during the Solar eclipse, they have found that the magnetic field of the earth is recorded in volcanic lava, and they have found many magnetic field flips in the past, where in a couple of hours it has changed 60 degrees, it will definately happen, its how it will effect us that has got everyone a little scared, it just so happens that the mayan calender ends on this date and Nostradamus also claims this date is a great event, but that asteroid does sound sexy!
 
Mercurial: Lulin is only visible from after 22:00 after Leo has risen. It should be very close to Saturn at the moment. I guess you night have seen a satellite or meteorite.

Yeah, but it was so, so close. It was weird and it was going very fast and then it suddenly just disappeared :confused:
 
@remybfg10k your best bet is to google, ive read a few books, one in particular i found quite interesting was, Nothing in This Book is True But it's Exactly How Things are by bob frissel, ive watched a few doccys more recently science or superstition 2012, 2012.Where.History.Ends, doomsday 2012 the doccy, ive always been interested in this date not sure what will actually happen, the sun reaching the centre of the galaxy for the first time in 26000 years is epic.

my problem with these so called "prophecies" is that it cannot be proven without a shadow of a doubt that it is true. so until i see my compass moving wrong way around i will not believe it...

How does the sun reach the middle of the galaxy? are you saying we are in the middle of the galaxy? makes a person wonder why eh...
 
Im not a big Nostra fan, the proof is in the lava :P
I certainly hope some aliens hitch a ride on that Asteroid though, could be verrrry interesting:)
 
Jupiter, Mars and Mercury in the early-morning sky
Watch Mercury pass Jupiter and Mars this week - Jupiter and Mars are returning to our early-morning skies, while Mercury is leaving. Jupiter is the very bright one over in the east in the early mornings. Mercury is fairly bright, and very close to Jupiter early tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Mars is below, much fainter.

Comet Lulin
Comet Lulin is passing closest to the Earth this week - but it's not easy to see. If you have binoculars, have a look for it south of Saturn tonight (23rd).
