LoL just used Two Pokeballs and ran away then reappeared and cought 1st time

Damn about a week ago I finished walking Ghastly for 60km so that I could get Gengar, I got the worst move set, and now they are giving Ghaslty candy away.
Hopefully I can get a Gengar with a great move set this time. I am hoping to see some drowzee, haven't seen any, caught my first Marowak this morning and got a few Ghastly, Haunter and Meowth.

I think its because its giving the most candies and needs the least to evolve ... and so will mean the most xp.

Its a purely logical decision. I think for those who would rather fill up their Pokedex (like me) I'm going to be walking every pokemon that I don't have the upgraded version.

Got about 30 magicarp candies today already !

yes, just for the event. So before you used to get 1 candy for 3km now you get 4 candies for 3km.

They give you the candies as you earn them so you will get 1 every 750 meters.

One of the Pokemon I have yet to evolve all the way to Butterfree. And with getting a candy every 0.25km it shouldn't be an issue.

I received my first 10km egg ever but none of the ghosts spawn, I have the feeling that Gastly will be the only one I "see".
