Pokemon Go!

my go plus stopped working this morning, its only a few weeks old
basically just vibrates one time when i try to connect, doesnt even flash now

does that mean the battery is dead ?

first things first:
Eject in game.
turn off bluetooth.
restart phone.
hold button on go plus (while restarting phone) until button goes solid blue.
when button is solid blue, hold again until go plus vibrates.
go plus will flash white light then.

by this stage, phone should be restarted.
log into pogo again (bluetooth still off)
turn on bluetooth.
pair device again.


basically what happens is the game, your phone and the go plus all have different ideas of how often to communicate to each other.
this leads to multiple bluetooth pairnings wihit the same device, that are all seen as connected.

by restarting your phone, you reset your bluetooth stack, and its the easiest way to force the "old" connections to disconnect.

by unpairing your go plus you reset its connections (the long press until blue followed by the hold until it flashes white)

the only other thing that can still mess up this process is if the app thinks it has a go plus connected still, this is why you eject it first and then turn off your bluetooth.


this is true for Ios and Android BTW.
and the reasons are, the game connects every +- 18 ms, the device looks for a connection every +-11ms and your phone connects at a different rate depending on make, model, and OS.

if you are on android. use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp&hl=en
and then when the go plus is connected, go into the app, under bonded select the go plus then press the three dots on the top right (not the main menu, the menu for the go plus) and change its connection priority timer to be the high setting (11.25-15ms)

this will make the go plus more responsive, and will also make the disconnects happen less often.
 
so yesterday morning at our first raid for the day (8:20 at waterkloof corner) my wife hit level 34.
we did another raid on that same lucky egg.
then we did 2 more, on two different lucky eggs.

From there I jumped in a car with a friend while the wife went to roleplaying. I logged into her account, and did 4 more raids, using 2 more lucky eggs.

then I changed cars as the guy I was with had things to do.
from there we drove to Silver lakes, then attebury value mart for 2 more riads all on one lucky egg.

then we hit Magnolia del and the Dutch embassy on one egg.
then Brooklyn mall and south street in hatfield on another lucky egg.

then we went back to brooklyn, and I popped yet another egg, wiht no plan for a raid after that. but one came up, and we cut it super fine but made it.
we then went for one last raid, and I did not pop a lucky egg for this one. honestly, I forgot.

in total wiht all the catches and pokestop spins while driving, all those raids gained 298K XP.
I did 17 raids, used 8 lucky eggs, and raided from 8:20 until 18:30.

when I got home, there were 3 more entei raids all close enough, wiht enough people showing intrest that we could have squeezed all 3 in on one egg. but I was dead tired.
man what a great day of pokemon!

i noticed after the last update the go plus doesnt work so well in the car anymore, constantly gives a network error or the go plus will just flash red as in missed the pokestop

if i had the cash i would have got the go-tcha as well, those auto catch and spin features look nice

one of the level 40 guys in pta has one.

he ordered it, paid for it, it got lost in the mail, he got a refund, then he got it in the mail 2 weeks ago.

yesterday he was one of the people I was raiding with for most of the day.
he was wearing his normal go plus, not his gotcha. that has to tell you something....



and I have not found the go plus any less reliable in a car than before the update....

When i read this, I wonder why the HELL aren't you level 40 yet????
Flip, i don't event want to compare my Sunday morning to yours, as most of it either involved cleaning...feeding pets (they all have some sort of ailment so it takes a while with medication and such)
Makes me look like a proper noob...as excluding legendary raids which still does not count to your medal, i've only done 20 raids in total :(

Lol. I am not level 40 because I have actively slowed down since I hit level 30 so my wife can catch up. No lucky egg evolution spree, nothing.

While on her account she has been going hard. She was level 22 when I was level 30.

Now she is 34. I am 35. I played on her account on sunday, so all that xp is for her to catch me up.

I feel the same way...can only read Baxteen's updates with admiration, wish I could spend the same amount of time on the game. Most days my activity is limited to spinning a pokestop and catching one pokemon, just to keep my 7-day streaks going.

I don't have any legendaries like Lugia, Articuno, Moltres, etc...I don't even have pokemons like Snorlax or Lapras...I don't have time to join people in raids, have only done 5 raids on my own so far.

My Sunday consisted of spending 7 hours in malls with the wife and in-laws :-(

And my bag sizes are still stock standard...so yes, feel like a total noob too!

Your wife is lucky that you give her a chance like that. My wife hit level 28 three days ago and I'm almost complete with level 26...she makes it her mission to stay in front of me...and she has much more chance during the day to play.

the weird thing is when I go raiding wiht the PTA crew I am the one who feels like a n00b.

I have seen 2 people get level 40. and a third is halfway though level 39, so about a 3 weeks of raiding at her pace and she will be there.
I did 300K XP on sunday.
this chick does 150K per day. if she does not go raiding between classes.

there is a group that get in one car, and drives around and just hits legendary after legendary on weekends, only stopping for food. and because the 4 of them are such high level (all above 39) they can 4 man anything other than a lugia.

up to around level 30 levels are really really easy to come by.

I took a fresh account from level 1 to level 18 in 2 hours.
and it only cost me R14. (2 100 coin specials for lucky eggs before the second pokemon caught or first pokestop spun)
granted, it was during the event at irene Mall, where there were 13 lured up pokestops, and I had a go plus, and everything I caught was new pokemon, and all the stops were new spins.
and I managed to get a free raid in.

after half an hour I was level 9. (bought lucky egg)
half an hour after that I was level 13. (level 9 reward)
half an hour after that I was level 15 thanks to a pidgey evolve in the closing seconds of the last egg (level 10 reward)
when that last egg ran out I was done for the night. and I was level 18.

Lol, don't know about that, but yes sometimes reality hits in you in the the poke balls and tells you to get back to work.
Although this game requires a bit more than most others, if you compare it to clash of clans for another mobile game for example, they both require the roughly the same game play time to level up ext. But the big thing with this game is you have to get up and get out there, which does not factor in to other grinding based games.
Yesterday for example, we did a raid, took 20 mins to get there 20 mins back and about 7 mins for the raid....

this is why I love PTA.
20 mins from work to the first raid.
start time was 16:30
at 16: 45 we were starting the next raid a few blocks away, that same crew then did another 4 raids in quick sucsession all before 18:00. I went home unfortunately.
