Pokemon Go!

hold on.

connecting after pairing?
try this. follow these steps exactly.

open pogo. eject go plus.
close pogo. go into bluetooth settings.
un-pair go plus (it should not show up, but if it does, we found a problem.)
turn off bluetooth on phone.
long press go plus until light stays blue.
long press until vibrate.
restart phone.

once restarted, open pogo (Bluetooth still off)
when pogo is open and running fine, turn on bluetooth. (best would be via drop down settings menu)

go into settings in pogo, go to go plus.

there should be no devices at all. if there is, eject, and restart this process.
only when you are sure there is no go plus connected, or paired to the phone do you click the button on the go plus.
the light on the plus should flash white.
now there should be a go plus icon in the game that you can connect to.

I suspect the reason for your struggles is your phone is pairing to the go plus before pogo is connecting, leading to some funny settings coming from the game.

if you connect at any time, remember, the go plus will vibrate within seconds of you telling the game to connect it. if it does not, and you find your plus has a green dot under settings, but no green dot on the home screen, that is what is happening.

force closing the game and retrying without shutting down solves that reconnect issue for me about 50% of the time.
Thanks. You've posted this solution before, I believe, and that instruction I did follow, to the letter, without much success. But I will try it again.

no doubt.
but what I think went wrong is the pairing.
I think your device is pairing to the go plus instead of using it as a BLE device. if that makes sense.

Just tried your method again. No joy.
Guess I'll look at the battery next.

Yaaa, but in the real world, we ain't going to start a new account for this event.
And the number of new mons most people short are so little....

so all of us will get at least 1. when the legendary rotation happens. that is 1500XP.
plus 10K for the raid.
so if you drop an egg, that is 23K xp.

please note, level 1 to level 7 is 21K xp.
below level 15, you will gain 2 levels.
below level 19 and you will level up.
below level 21 you have at least 3K xp already? that levels you as well.

sure for me 23K xp is a drop in the bucket of the 1.5M xp I need to level. but considering, how quick chaining legendary raids chanied togetehr can help you level, this event should not be ignored, and the double stardust is the real key. I will be grinding like a mofo, hatching eggs and cathing everything.
I want to make 5mil stardust during this event.

@baxteen
A bit of knobbish behaviour. Come to Durban and politely swear everyone on the whatsapp group. There are kids there.

Take your butthurr back to Jhb and keep it there. It's a game. People spoof. For whatever reason it may be. Play your own game. Don't worry about others.

Spoofers mess up the game for everyone. And having that as an example for kids makes them even worse.

Grow a pair and come out and say it, you don't have the ability to play the game it was meant to be played so you are but hurt I said what others have been thinking.

Rather stop playing than support spoofers you spineless cheat

Erm ya.

I play once a day during my morning run. Not sure if I would consider that cheating.

You are entitled to your views, no matter how strong they are. You could have simply left 4he group, but instead you chose to swear at everyone first. Manners don't cost you anything, or treating people nicely.

Don't be ***.

No, the group encourages spoofers, that means they needed a shake up.

And if you can't see why spoofers hurt the game then you are kinda missing the point.

But I get it, some people don't want the development team from niantic to make the game better and add features and fix bugs, they just want them to be working against spoofing all the time.

And if that makes you feel like you have manners then great for you.

What's the going rate on coins per pokémon per hour in a gym?

1 coin for every 10min, so 6 coins per hour. Bear in mind, there is a 50 coins per day earning limit. So if your pokemon is in the gym for say 10 hours, you won't get 60 coins, only 50. So if you exceed 8.3 hours in a gym, you don't really earn anymore.

So... Granted you have one pokémon overnight in a gym (or even only the working day), there really isn't a benefit to taking down other gyms. You're really only wasting potions and revives.

That's a bit daft.

Congratulations to the people who got ex invites in South Africa.

So far what I have noticed is groups where spoofers are allowed have no invites, where groups that fight hard against spoofers have lots.

It sucks for hardcore players who play legit but associated with spoofers, but its awesome for those who don't.

Well done to niantic for punishing spoofing communities like durban.

Private groups, don't allow spoofers to join and even level 22 players in the community will get invites

Which areas received EX raids in SA? Personally i doubt that all the players will be punished for a single spoofer being part of a raid, as you require at least 4 people for most raids, would be a bit harsh, imo, to punish all the players in a group just because of a single spoofer.
And honestly, some of the raids i've been in, we would not have been able to complete it if a spoofer or two did not join

So far confirmed reports in Bloemfontein, pe, and 3 different ones in pta that I know of.

Nothing in durban.
And I have not seen reports of any in cpt yet.

The notion of punishment for spoofers is something someone mentioned on the spoofing subreddit, I have no other evidence for it.

I know many people that cheat in this game and quite frankly it is putting me off playing. Why should I run around and give up my time for one of something a spoofer has a hundred of?! It really diminishes the fun and the value.

Honestly in all games there is some form of cheating, legit or otherwise. My question to you is, how do you distinguish between a spoofer, a person playing an enormous amount or just plain old luck. I've seen many videos online were people accuse other players of being spoofers becuase they have a suicune, but just 2 weeks ago I was raiding with a player from Taiwan.

Take my luck for example, hatched of 8 Lapras from 10Km eggs, but not a single Snorlax, a mate of mine, the reverse, 3 Snorlax and no Lapras. There is a gent i work and raid with, that has over 20 of each of the legendaries...are you going to call him a spoofer as well?
